Gene Deal can’t help but talk about everything he’s seen Sean “Diddy” Combs do. For the past year, the music mogul’s former bodyguard has kept his mouth moving about the Bad Boy Records founder and everything relating to his past.

He’s made some outrageous claims about the mogul and other celebrities who may have been involved with him. Whether they are true are not, many still take his words as the gospel since he worked so closely with Puff. With that in mind, The Root will revisit some of his most shocking and craziest comments about Diddy.
Ashton Kutcher could go down with Diddy?
In October, Deal revealed that Diddy won’t hesitate to throw his celebrity friends under the bus if it results in a lighter sentence. One of the first people Deal said Diddy could mention to authorities is Ashton Kutcher.
In an interview with “The Art of Dialogue,” Deal said, “Ashton Kutcher and him were real tight… Ashton Kutcher has a right to be kind of alarmed if he was doing things with Diddy.”
He continued, “Wherever Diddy went, his tape recorders went. He was videotaping everything.”
Politicians are on Diddy’s “freak off” tapes
In September, Deal claimed that politicians often participated in the mogul’s infamous “freak offs.”
Speaking with the “Art of Dialogue,” he said, “I don’t think it’s only celebrities that’s gonna be shook. He had politicians in there. He had princes in there. He also had a couple of preachers in there.”
Currently, no politicians have been publicly named as participating in Diddy’s alleged “freak offs.”
Diddy turned into a “monster”?
This may be one of Deal’s weirder analogies. In another interview with “The Art of Dialogue,” he said that the music industry turned the mogul into a “monster.”
He shared, “When he was in New York City, he was like that gecko from the Geico commercial, then he lived in Cali and Miami, he turned into Godzilla.”
Deal then started to name other notable music moguls who have influenced Diddy’s actions in the worst possible way.
He continued, “He turned into something that you could consider a monster, bruh. … He learned from Andre Harrell. He learned from Russell Simmons. He learned from Clive Davis… They were heavy into beating women and doing things at that crazy stage. That’s gonna make him think that he can get away with the same thing.”
“I wouldn’t be surprised if he does the ultimate sin…”
In May, Deal compared the 2016 hotel surveillance video of Diddy beating his then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura to the 2014 video of former Ravens running back Ray Rice punching his fiancé in the face.
Instead of saying that Diddy would be spending years in prison, he gave a much bleaker prediction, saying, “I wouldn’t be surprised if he does the ultimate sin – suicide.”
Christopher Williams was a “gangsta”
When asked if actor Christopher Williams had sexual relations with Diddy, he said that he knew Williams as a “crazy, gangsta-ass n***a from Mt. Vernon” who always kept a firearm on him.
He added, “he will shoot the s**t out you.”
Nipsey Hussle claims
Deal discussed the relationship the late Nipsey Hussle had with Puff, telling “The Art of Dialogue,” “The music that he was putting out, that I could say based on conversations that I heard him speak, that the man was spiritually connected.”
He continued, “He was a child of God. He had got in front of Puffy one time and he told Puff that he was putting out this music and I guess Puff was helping him in some kind of way… He said ‘I need my music and my albums to have the same feel of that ‘Life After Death,’ like Biggie’s album.’”
Diddy threatened former Bad Boy Records president
Deal told a story about how the mogul threatened former Bad Boy President Kirk Burrows, saying during a 2022 interview, “I think it was, like, Kirk had to sign over Bad Boy. He had like 25% of Bad Boy, but for them to get the deal, everything had to be [in one].”
He continued, “Like, somebody couldn’t own 25% for Puff to do the deal. So, Kirk had to sign over his shares for them to do the deal which I didn’t never understand. It wasn’t my business to understand. But Kirk ended up signing over it back to Diddy with the promise that he was gonna get it back once they did whole thing with Clive Davis and everything. Kirk had to be threatened in order to do it.”
Diddy’s weird relationship with his mom
Diddy’s mother, Janice Combs, has been one of the mogul’s loudest supporters, so it’s interesting to hear that they have a less-than-ideal relationship with each other.
Deal shared, “This is the same dude that used to disrespect his mother.”
He also added that Diddy had a weird way of showing his affection for his mom, saying, “ I don’t know how many dudes do kiss their mother in their mouth when they are 50, 60 years old… that’s them, that’s their whole thing.”
He also claimed that his mother ran a prostitution ring.
Kim Porter’s casket
Deal mentioned a weird conspiracy about the death of Kim Porter during an interview with “The Art of Dialogue,” saying, “Some people even said that her casket was ordered two months before she died. I don’t believe that, man, I’m not no conspiracy theorist but I heard.”
He later added, “How you order a gold casket two months before somebody die man?”
Abuse of Usher
Deal claimed that when Usher was living with Diddy, the mogul sent the young R&B artist to the hospital, saying during an interview, “Man, n***a was bleeding from the butt.”
While Usher has admitted to living with Diddy when he was a young artist, he has not come forward about any abuse allegations toward the disgraced mogul.
