Simone Biles should be focused on her Paris Olympics training, but instead she has to take time out of her life to address social media nonsense about her marriage.
Back in December 2023, NFL player Jonathan Owens appeared on βThe Pivotβ podcast to discuss his life and career. In what was supposed to be a cute moment, the hosts, Ryan Clark, Fred Taylor and Channing Crowder, asked Owens about his famous wife, legendary American gymnast Simone Biles. He revealed that they met online, with her contacting him first. He also explained that he had no idea who Biles was because he was so focused on football when she was in the Olympics. βI always say men the catch,β Owens said.

Everyone, including the hosts, were quick to correct Owensβ thinking on the subject, letting him know that Biles, the greatest gymnast of all-time, is in fact the catch in their marriage. Owens became the target of a swift internet backlash, with some fans encouraging the four-time Olympic gold medalist to leave him.
While the situation was βhilariousβ to Biles when it started, the eight-time U.S. Champion grew tired of the judgment. In a recent appearance on the βCall Her Daddyβ podcast, she defended her husband calling himself a catch.
βHe never said I wasnβt a catch,β she said. βHe said he was a catch because he is. Iβve never met a man like him. A lot of people that meet him are like, oh my gosh. I want a man like that, like Jonathan.β
Now it appears sheβs well and truly done with the BS. On Thursday, she posted a video on TikTok where she used the popular trend of tearing off tape and mouthing the words, βThis is for your mouth. Let me know if you need a bigger piece,β to address all the haters criticizing her marriage. She accompanied it with the caption, βto all my twitter finger friends & etc. #fyp #sorrynotsorry #mindyourbusinessβ
Simone Biles is a once in a generation athlete who we should offer unconditional support to, not constant criticism and judgment. You donβt have to like her husband, because heβs not yours. How about everyone just cheer her on in Paris and let her live her life? Your opinion is not needed or desired.
Bravo, Simone.
