The term, “The Kardashian curse,” is not an unfamiliar one on social media as the Black internet has long accused the Kardashian-Jenner sisters of cursing the Black bachelors they date. Now, after the trailer dropped of “In Whose Name,” a documentary detailing Kanye West’s fall from grace in the public eye, the rapper and Kim Kardashian, his ex-wife, and their tumultuous relationship is back on the radar. Though fans might be more willing to point the finger, rather than have their Black icons take accountability for some of their own mistakes, let’s take a look back on the KarJenner sisters’ dating history.

Damon Thomas: 2000-2004

At 19, Kim Kardashian eloped with record producer Damon Thomas. The two first met in 1998, when Kim was 18, and got married in Las Vegas, a marriage that lasted four years before Thomas filed for a divorce, according to E! News.
Kim has claimed that she was high on ecstasy when they got married, a claim that Thomas responded to in an interview with VladTV, saying, “I think it’s unfair to make those kinds of blanket statements, because we have kids now… I think that she should be more responsible for those statements.”

Kris Humphries: 2010-2011

Then NBA-player Kris Humphries and Kim Kardashian got married in August 2011 after being together for seven months. The marriage only lasted 72 days before Kim filed for a divorce. On a “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” reunion, Kim said that she feels she owes her ex-husband an apology. “I was so nervous to break up with someone, I handled it totally the wrong way.”
Kanye West: 2012-2021

Ex-husband and father of her kids, Kanye West, was Kim Kardashian’s longest relationship before Kim filed for divorce in 2021. The breakdown of their relationship was very public, and on an episode of “The Kardashians,” Kim said, “It’s the hardest feeling to watch someone you really loved and have a family with just be so different from who you knew.”
Rashad McCants: 2008-2009

In 2008-2009, Khloé Kardashian dated former basketball player Rashad McCants. Their breakup was documented on Khloé’s blog page in 2009, where she stated that McCant’s hectic work schedule was the reason for their split. However, Khloé also claimed McCant cheated on her in an episode of “Khloé and Kourtney Take Miami,” but McCant told Page Six that the scandal was made up for TV.
Lamar Odom: 2009-2015

One of Khloé Kardashian’s biggest public romances was her marriage and subsequent divorce with Lamar Odom. The pair had married a month after first meeting at an NBA party in 2009, according to Capital Xtra. Khloé filed for divorce because Odom reportedly had romantic affairs during their marriage. But after Odom suffered from a drug overdose in 2015, Khloé briefly paused their divorce settlements to help him recover. The pair recently reunited in an episode of “The Kardashians” to talk about their relationship.
James Harden: 2015-2016

James Harden and Khloé Kardashian dated for eight months from 2015 til February 2016. About the relationship, Harden told Sports Illustrated that he didn’t like all the attention that came from dating a Kardashian.
“It wasn’t uncomfortable, but it wasn’t me,” he said. “I don’t need pictures of myself when I’m driving my car.”
Tristan Thompson: 2016-2021

Khloé’s longest relationship has been with basketball player Tristan Thompson, who is also the father of her kids True and Tatum Thompson. The pair split up after Thompson was caught in a public cheating scandal in 2019 with Kylie Jenner’s bestie, Jordyn Woods.
Tyga: 2011-2017

A controversial first public relationship, Tyga and Kylie first met at her 16th birthday party in 2011 when he was 23. Though rumors about their relationship first came up when Kylie was 17 years old, they were never confirmed until she was of legal age. Though their relationship ended in 2017, Kylie said during an episode of “Life Of Kylie” that “…He and I will always have a bond.”
Travis Scott: 2017-2023

Travis Scott and Kylie Jenner were the trendy IT couple when they got together in 2017. In February 2018, the couple announced the arrival of their daughter Stormi Webster, before splitting briefly in 2019 until 2021, when they attended Travis Scott’s disastrous Astroworld festival. Then, in February 2022, the couple announced the birth of their son, Aire Webster, before they decided to call it quits again in 2023.
Kendall Jenner

Unlike her sisters, Kendall Jenner is pretty private about her relationships, but she has been linked to multiple NBA players. Kendall’s longest public relationship was with basketball player Devin Booker. Though the couple split in 2022, there have been rumors that the couple secretly reunited at the start of this year, according to Cosmopolitan.
