In the one-minute ad, the legally deaf running back narrates his own struggles growing up deaf, being picked on and being picked last, all while refusing to give in to the jeers of people trying to keep him down.
“I’ve been deaf since I was 3, so I didn’t listen,” Coleman quips toward the end of the ad. “And now I’m here, with a lot of fans in the NFL cheering me on, and I can hear them all.”
