It’s been less than a week since Damon “Dame” Dash turned his longstanding issues with rapper Cam’ron up another level, threatening him with a $300 million defamation suit. But it already looks like Dame is walking things back and is now, instead trying make peace and smooth things over.

As we previously told you, the years-long beef between the two recently escalated after Cam’ron labeled Dame a “flagrant liar” and some other insults stemming from the famed music producer’s hella entertaining interview on “The Breakfast Club.” After getting wind of Cam’ron’s words, Dame apparently had enough and took to social media to essentially get him to back off— or else. ‘Cause if he didn’t, he face some serious legal action.
However, just days later, it appears as if Dame doesn’t want to go through with that anymore as evidenced by a series of videos posted to his Instagram on Monday (Sept. 22). In it, he pushed for peace with Cam’ron and rapper-turned-TV producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson (with whom he’s had squabbles with over the years, too) and said that he was willing to end their beefs.
“Almost every OG from Harlem and every n*gga I respect is like, ‘Yo, cut the sh*t. It’s embarrassing.’ I just want to talk to him [Cam’ron]. We can resolve this, then it’s over. And if we need to— because we can’t publicly have us as Black people beefing with each other. That’s just what they want,” he said.
Respectfully Dame, who is they?! Seriously. But we digress.
He continued: “They use us to tear each other down. They don’t do it, we do it to ourselves but they usually pay us to do it. And I’m not gonna get caught up in that. So I prefer to squash this.”
Dame went on to apologize to Harlem and said that he didn’t want to get physically violent with Cam’ron and said that his version of violence nowadays is just lawsuits. He then proposed that he, 50, and Cam’ron come together to do a TV show, movie or “something” different to show how people can still work together despite any past beefs (or current).
“Let’s take this off the streets and the streets right now is the internet. And this sh*t is corny. So I don’t want to fight with y’all no more,” he concluded in part.
He also offered for REVOLT CEO Detavio Samuels to come to the table so they could work out the issues around reports that Dame is the new Chairman. In a hilarious note, he made sure to not invite Charlamagne tha God as he wanted to make sure only “real men” would be there.
As far as 50 Cent— in probably no surprise to no one— he rejected Dame’s olive branch on Instagram. “I agree with Dame [100] percent it’s better to work together,” he wrote in the caption, reposting Dame’s video. “We should sit down and figure out how to move forward. I believe we can create a path to more success. Oh wait. CAM just said f*ck Dame and his fake chat GPT law suit. so it’s f*ck you Dame.”
Once Dame’s apology began to circulate, many took this as an opportunity to further clown him and paint his actions as an excuse to back out of the lawsuit he lobbed against Cam’ron— because he knows he wouldn’t win.
“When you realize you won’t win,” wrote one user on Instagram.
“he don’t know if he coming or going,” said another.
“He’s in a moment …like a midlife crisis,” one other user wrote.
One user dealt a low blow, writing: “He’s up here shirtless, swinging on swing while low-key pleading for another man’s forgiveness. And yet he questions Charlamagne’s masculinity.”
Over on Twitter, sentiments were more of the same with one user noting: “Lmao. Classic dame. This dude don’t know HOW to have a respectful conversation. He’s proven that in EVERY interview that’s even been recorded. Friends. FAMILY. Coworkers. He’s a wannabe bully that doesn’t grasp that his time on top has been up for a long time.”
