It was a typical day in Samuel Wilson’s Miami-Dade County barbershop. Two small children were playing around as Wilson continued cutting a long time client’s hair. But the family-friendly environment soon turned into a danger zone after one unsatisfied customer did the unthinkable.

Camera footage from the Nov. 25 incident was first posted to social media by Daily Loud, according to MSN. In the video, a client — later identified as Darious Dwayne Davis, 48 — was unsatisfied with his haircut. Wilson, the owner of Square Cutz in Perrine, Fla., tried his best to understand Davis’ complaints but couldn’t, according to Local 10 News.
“I don’t see what you’re looking at,” Wilson told Davis while trying to measure if his hairline was off. Davis insisted Wilson pushed back his hairline, and from there, the situation escalated, the video showed.
Davis stood up to show Wilson exactly what he was talking about. “You’re tripping,” he told the barber. Davis continued to tell a visibly upset Wilson to “just chill out.” In response, the shop owner told the client “Bruh, don’t worry about it” before removing the cape from around Davis’ neck. At this point, the smaller of the two young boys started covering his ears in hopes of muffling the loud arguing, the footage showed.
“You ’bout to get an attitude about my s**t, bruh,” Davis asked Wilson. The barber then told the man to “have a good day,” prompting Davis to take off his badge– seemingly to take the encounter to a physical level. Instead of the two men fighting each other, Davis left the store. But he soon returned with a firearm.
As soon as Davis walked back into the barbershop, he pushed Wilson by his neck and revealed the gun. At this point, the three guests still in the shop were stunned. One child ran to the younger one in order to protect him. Meanwhile, the other adult client attempted to deescalate the situation.
Davis continued threatening the barber while hitting him in the face with the gun. “I’ll kill your p***y ass in here,” he said. “I’ll pistol whip your ass ’bout my head.” Davis then said, “you’re lucky I don’t want to go back to prison” before leaving the store on his own accord. The video footage has over 2.4 million views.
Folks online reacted to the shocking video by pointing out the irony of Davis’ threats. “Now your hairline is *still* f****d up and you’re going back to prison — hope it was worth it, dummy,” @ronniessance said on X.
“Pulling a gun in a barber shop and committing assault in front of kids is serious,” @aishamusic argued. “Attacking the barber is not gonna bring your hairline back.”
“I’m more interested in the little boy protecting his kid brother. His mama raised him right,” @vee_uncommon tweeted.
Some folks understood where Davis was coming from. “It’s not just about the hair cut, it’s about how the barber acted afterwards. He wasn’t even apologetic and talked crazy,” @PRINCE_ANGELUS_ said. “He could’ve defused by admitting his mistake and not charging him. Sometimes a simple my bad is everything.”
Days after the interaction, Miami police arrested and charged Davis with multiple felonies, including aggravated battery, aggravated assault and improper exhibition of a weapon, according to NBC 6 News. Police said Davis has history of violence.
Wilson spoke to Local 10 news after the incident, saying he’s not sure he’ll ever forgive Davis, but he holds no hate in his heart. “He wasn’t a man when he had that gun,” Wilson told the outlet. Still, he’s not holding grudges. “I can’t say I can forgive him. But I hope the best for you, homie,” Wilson continued. “Have a good day and have a good life.”
A judge set Davis’ bond to $35,000. He has since posted bail.
