In a preview clip of Monday’s episode of “The Jennifer Hudson Show,” Common and Hudson apparently confirmed their rumored relationship. Not only did the rapper give her flowers, but he alluded to their union when asked by Hudson.
“Now, we gotta get down to business, Mr. Common. I’m a host and so I have to ask you this question ’cause everybody always wanna know this — are you dating anyone?” she inquired.

“I’m in a relationship that is with one of the most beautiful people I ever met in life,” Common replied. “She’s smart, she loves God, she has something real down-to-earth about her, she’s talented...but I set my standard kind of high because she had to have an EGOT.”
“She had to win an Oscar on her first movie. I set my stand high. She had to get her own talk show.” Hudson and Common have been romantically linked since 2022, though neither have stated outright that they are in a relationship together.
The latter has had a string of relationships with high profile celebrities including Erykah Badu (whom he has described as his “first love”), Taraji P. Henson, Serena Williams, Angela Rye and Tiffany Haddish.
In the past, Common has called himself a “love addict.” However, could it be that he is simply for the streets?
During an interview with “The Breakfast Club” back in 2020, Common stated that he’s been working on his issues in therapy. “The pattern I found myself in—and my therapist broke it down—was the feeling of being in love and that honeymoon period. I was addicted to that feeling,” he explained.
“When that feeling would go away and the real part of the relationships came, I was like, ‘OK. Do I want this or not?’ I wasn’t ready to do the work.” Whatever happens in this latest pairing, we just hope the entertainers are making the best of it.
