While all has been seemingly quiet when it comes to the alleged cheating CEO who got blasted with his mistress at a Coldplay concert one month ago, there’s now been a new update. And fortunately for all of us, it’s coming from one of the people at the center of the drama: Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin.

As we previously told you, video footage of the Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and the company’s Chief People Officer Kristin Cabot gained traction on social media in mid-July when the two appeared on the Jumbotron at a Coldplay concert.
The romantic embrace between the couple, captured on screen, was abruptly cut short when they realized their images were broadcast to the entire concert audience. Immediately, they separated; the man quickly moved out of the camera’s view, and the woman turned her back, attempting to conceal her face. Despite their efforts, they were caught.
Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin then decided to poke fun at their reaction, saying: “Oh look at these two. Alright, come on. You’re OK. Wait, what? Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.”
Not too long after that night, since it appeared the two were seemingly in an entanglement of sorts, Byron stepped down as did Cabot later. Astronomer also announced it’d be launching a “formal investigation” into the incident.
Now, Martin himself is speaking out about the ruckus he unintentionally caused in July. As captured in a post on X/Twitter released on Monday, the “Viva La Vida” singer could be heard speaking to the crowd, telling them that they were about to go around putting the camera on random fans so that he could say hi. After spotting a fan sign that read that that person had been to three shows in the last month, Martin thanked the fan then noted that they must have been at the previously mentioned, now scandalous show.
“Well, OK, thank you for coming again after that debacle,” Martin began.
He later added: “We’ve been doing this a long time, and it is only recently that it became a… yeah. Life throws you lemons and you’ve got to make lemonade. So, we are going to keep doing it because we are going to meet some of you.”
Welp, looks like the Jumbotron won’t be retiring at Coldplay shows any time soon. So, for anyone who plans on going with someone they ought not be going with, just know you’ve been warned!
