It may prove to be the shocker of the year....at least to some of us mere mortals, but celebs Sean βDiddyβ Combs was accused by his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura of a decade-long relationship of violence, sex abuse, and moreβincluding accusations of rape in a bombshell lawsuit that featured a trigger warning on the front page.
As expected, social media erupted and everyone from fans to media pundits had an opinion. However, many were waiting to see who else would corroborate the sensational claims.

50 Cent was one of the first to comment on the story. Everyone knows the G-Unit General has no problem saying what he wants, when he wants. He commented on the story on Instagram, writing, ββDamn brother love, brother love, brother love, you out here looking CRAZY AS A MF. LMAO,β.The post racked up nearly half a million likes.
An old interview featuring Atlanta rapper Yung Joc seemed to corroborate Diddyβs hold over Cassie. In the video, Yung talks about how Cassie allegedly shaved her head because of the rapperβs influence, while he was present there and witnessed it all. βI was watching Puff β¦ Puff jumped up. Me and Cassie sitting next to each other, my wife right here, Cassie right here. The nβa jumped off the bar, came over there, and said, βYo, yo Cassie. Tomorrow, I want you to shave the side of your head,β
He added that he asked Cassie if she was going to do it, saying that she responded, in part, ββ Well, I mean, whatever Sean wants, Iβm gonna do.ββ
Aubrey OβDay who was a member of Danity Kane, a group that was signed to Bad Boy, spoke out, saying, βIβm in complete support of her,β referring to Cassie. She also responded when the very next day after the suit was filed, Cassie and Diddy settled the case, remarking, βMoney is Greater Than Accountability.β
Many people were shocked when the case was settled the very next day. With some using it to point to an admission of guilt, something that Diddyβs lawyer Benjamin Brafman, vehemently denied, writing in a statement that the decision to settle is in βno way an admission of wrongdoing.β He added, βMr. Combsβ decision to settle the lawsuit does not in any way undermine his flat-out denial of the claims. He is happy they got to a mutual settlement and wishes Ms. Ventura the best.β
While the case is settled, many believe that the court of public opinion will continue to litigate.
Analyzing everything said by many celebrities, including Kimora Lee Simmons who recently shared her own stories of abuse at the hands of her ex-husband Russell Simmons.
Kimora, who was close friends with Diddyβs ex, Kim Porter, wrote in her Instastory, βAs you so, so shall you reap.β
It is believed that, if prompted, Kimoraβs opinion could be the loudest in this entire scandal.
The case of Ventura vs. Combs may be over in the State of New York, but social mediaβs armchair attorneys are just getting started.
