Cardi B Talks About Marriage, but What She Says About Trump and Biden Shook Us

The "Up" rapper goes deep into her love for her husband in a new cover story for "Rolling Stone."

Cardi B had a lot to say in a new interview with β€œRolling Stone,” which was published Thursday. During the interview, The β€œWAP” artist discussed her union to Migos rapper Offset. Even though Cardi once filed for divorce in 2020 (she later canceled it), the star confessed her love for him runs deep.

β€œWe’re best friends. And it’s like, β€˜OK. Well, there was a time that I didn’t have a best friend, or I didn’t have a support system.’ It’s not even about β€˜How do you leave a partner?’ How do you stop talking to your best friend?” she explained.

Cardi elaborated:

β€œWe have our own bad stuff. We’re from two different worlds. Sometimes I cannot be … not that I cannot be a wife. It’s just like, my career takes my life. You know what I’m saying? My career comes first, then my kids come second. And then sometimes I don’t realize that I’m putting so many things before my relationship.”

Cardi confessed that her children are her number one priority. Much to the chagrin of fans, she didn’t discuss the follow-up to her 2018 debut album β€œInvasion of Privacy.” However, she has previously declared on social media that her sophomore album is, in fact, coming out in 2024.

The emcee also stated she’s not voting for either President Biden nor Donald Trump in the upcoming November election. Cardi did vote for Biden back in 2020, but has since had a change of heart.

β€œI feel like people got betrayed,” the β€œBodak Yellow” rapper said. β€œIt’s just like, damn, y’all not caring about nobody.” She went onto describe how upset she’s been with Biden’s β€œdomestic and foreign mismanagement.”

β€œThen, it really gets me upset that there is solutions to it. There is a solution. I know there’s a solution because you’re spending billions of dollars on any f***ing thing...There’s countries [where] kids are getting killed every single day, but because the [U.S.] won’t benefit from that country, they won’t help,” Cardi continued.

β€œI don’t like that America has this superhero cape on. We never did things to be superheroes. We did things for our own convenience.” What Cardi somehow forgot to mention is that Republicans in the Houseβ€”whom comprise its majorityβ€”passed a bill that forced Biden to send military aid to Israel.

A protest vote isn’t as noble as she thinks it isβ€”but Cardi B isn’t trying to hear that.
