On the Jay Shetty Podcast, the rap queen laid it all out. She wants her kids to have every opportunity and skill she missed out on growing up. “I don’t care and I don’t want y’all at home talking about I’m a little tough and sht. I don’t give a fck. This is what I work hard for,” she declared, bold as brass.
Her little ones, Kulture and Wave, are on a strict schedule: tutoring four times a week after school. Then, Kulture heads to piano and gym, while Wave gets his sports on. No slacking allowed in the Cardi B household.
The Manhattan native even recalled a moment from her childhood that showed how her environment limited her chances for growth and inspired her to want more for her kids.
“I don’t know how to swim. I would love to swim. But the one time I went to a pool in Highbridge, there was a crazy fight that broke out. People getting cut left to right. So, I couldn’t go swimming because I ain’t have no pool. If I have a pool, you going to learn how to swim. You going to take your swimming classes,” Cardi B said.
“I’m not really good with my feet, so you going to take dance classes because if you ever want to be a superstar, that sh*t going to be in you that you a dancer,’ she continued.
Social media praised the rapper’s efforts, noting that her mindset is what makes her a good and relatable mom.

Cardi B emphasized that she doesn’t expect her kids to be perfect — calling that an unrealistic pressure to put on a child. Still, she said she wants them to be “100 times better” than she is and inherit the discipline that comes along with working hard at a young age.
