If I told you The Root was giving away tickets to see Anita Baker, Chaka Khan, Tasha Cobbs Leonard, Smokey Robinson, Fantasia and others on March 17 and 18 in Miami, what would you say? Hold that thought—save your creative juices.

As an official media sponsor for the 2018 Jazz in the Gardens music festival, The Root decided to have a little fun this year. Ten tickets will be given away to five of our lucky readers, and all we want is a good laugh in return.

The contest is simple: Each day from Feb. 20 to 24, we’ll post GIFs on Twitter of the artists performing at the festival. All you have to do is craft the most hilarious caption in response to the GIF (because everyone loves a good meme). Oh, and you have to use the hashtag #WinJITG, and you must be following @TheRoot. The prize is two tickets per winner, and there will be five winners. Winners will be chosen based on which captions the editorial and social teams at The Root decide are the funniest.

If you aren’t Twitter-savvy, get your niece or nephew who’s always on their phone to help you out. You don’t want to miss this opportunity to see music legends all on one stage in beautiful Miami. May the best caption win!

Full contest rules here. This contest is not sponsored, administered, endorsed or associated with Twitter.

If I told you The Root is giving away free tickets to see Anita Baker, Chaka Khan, Tasha Cobbs Leonard, Smokey Robinson, Fantasia and others on March 17-18 in Miami, what would you say?

I’d say that this lineup represents a must-see embarrassment of riches and with Anita Baker announcing her intention to retire from performing earlier this year, this would be a great opportunity for her fans to bid her a fond farewell.
