In news that can only be described as βWTF, Dwayne?ββ Dwayne βThe Rockβ Johnson revealed that he wonβt be endorsing anyone for president this year and his reasoning why just might shock you.
Speaking in an interview with Fox News (???) with Will Cain, Johnson explained that he wouldnβt be publicly endorsing any political candidate ahead of the 2024 election due to the βdivisionβ he claimed he spawned back when he endorsed Joe Biden back in 2020.

βThe endorsement that I made years ago with Biden was one I thought was the best decision for me at that time. I thought, βIβm in this position where I have some influence and I felt it was my job then to exercise my influence [and] share: This is who Iβm going to endorse.β Iβm not going to do that,β Johnson said. βI was then, the most followed man in the world, and am today. And I appreciate that. But what that caused was something that tears me up in my gutsβwhich is division. That got me. I didnβt realize that then, I just felt like there was a lot of unrest and Iβd like things to calm down.β
Hmmm. A few quick questions, Dwayne: βdivisionβ amongst whom? And what exactly were they divided about?
He continued:
βThe takeaway after that was it caused an incredible amount of division. I realize now going into this election, I will not do that. My goal is to bring this country together. I believe in that. There will be no endorsement. At this level of influence, I will keep my politics to myself. It is between me and the ballot box. But I will tell you this: Like a lot of us out there, not trusting of all politicians, I do trust the American people and whoever they vote for that is my president and who I will support 100 percent.β
Later, when asked whether or not he was happy with the current state of the country, the βRed Noticeβ actor said no, citing βtodayβs cancel culture and woke culture.β
βTodayβs cancel culture, woke culture, division, etc β that really bugs me,β Johnson explained. βIn the spirit of that, you either succumb to that and be what other people want you to be, or you be yourself and be real β¦ and that might make people upset and piss people off, and thatβs okay.
Oof. Again, just really quicklyβI have a few more questions: what the hell do you mean βwoke culture?β Can you even define what being βwokeβ means? Can you define it accurately? Do you know where the term originated and how itβs been unjustly and inaccurately bastardized?
Perhaps more importantly, can you smell the BS you just cooked up into this interview, Dwayne? Because readers, viewers and fans definitely will. Thereβs a difference in being yourself and it pissing people off and being a narcissist, racist, deliberately divisive, offensively discriminatory, and intentionally ignorant human being and pissing people off because of it.
Thereβs also a difference in wanting the world, folks in power and policies to reflect and empower the diverse people that make up this countryβs population and whatever βwoke cultureβ bullshit some other folks are trying to make exist. Newsflash: it doesnβt. With such a huge platform like the βJumanjiβ star has, it would behoove Johnson to think twice before spewing certain dogwhistle terminology lest it further stoke the flames of the very division he claims to be so disheartened by.
