But that’s exactly what happened to Cam’ron when he called for a rap duel with ChatGPT, and the results were hilarious. The Harlem rapper wanted to test out AI’s rap ability, and it looked like he picked a fight with the wrong system.
Former Dipset star, Cam’ron, took to social media and revealed his lyrical rap battle loss in an Instagram post, shortly after taking an “L” from the AI-powered ChatGPT. From the results, even Killa Cam couldn’t deny his defeat. “I just had a rap battle against ChatGPT, and I lost. N***a response was too fast.“ The rapper posted under a series of screenshots. “ Wish I could pop on dat n***a, n***a think he know me.”
The AI-generated system was ready for the lyrical battle, as it was armed with witty responses and references to the “Horse & Carriage” artist’s current phase in his career.
“Check the AI on the mic/ I got circuits and bars tight/Your rhymes shine dim next to my dad-light/You step in this battle with toddler moves, amature fight …/Your verse is buggy, syntax error in your flow/ I debug every line, watch your confidence blow/ I craft punchlines slick like I write in Python/ You’re stuck in old loops — while I keep evolving, son.”
Cam’ron has never been the one to back down from a lyrical battle, as he fires back, “You on my d**k, pause, nothing but a nuisance.” /I’m Cam’ron the one that gets the computers Putin/ So you really work for me understand me so don’t start/ I’m cold blooded beloved, and/ you just have a chrome heart/ And I’m not talking about clothing, you a I-robot, and I’m no talking about lyrics boy, I throw shots.”
The battle between the real and artificial lyricist got more entertaining when ChatGPT spits: “Your talk is all chest-puff, sayin’ you the Don — Cam’ron, you flex, but I see the con,” read the verse. “Claiming you ‘get the computers Putin’, cold-blooded, chrome-hearted? Man, that shit’s corny and drawn/They call Cam’ron the king of punchline absurd, clowning Jay-Z’s sandals and old-school word.”
This battle got intense as ChatGPT took a real dig at Cam’ron by referencing his record “You Gotta Love It,” when Cam mocked Jay-Z for wearing sandals with jeans. Also, how can anyone miss that notable head nod to the 2002 musical banger, “Oh, Boy,” featuring Juelz Santana, where he accused him of “being stuck in ‘02.”
Cam’ron started to feel the heat of the defeat by responding with a “Fuck yoo think you talking too???” But ChatGPT wasn’t done, continuing with “Oh, you think you’re tough, but you’re just a bluff/ Claiming you’re Cam’ron, but your bars ain’t enough.”
The comment section was just as entertaining, with fans reacting to the AI’s surprising lyrical skills. One fan posting, “I think the Chrome line hurt the computer feelings, he brung that sh*t up like 3x.” Another fan playfully called out Cam, saying, “He cooked you.” You say “throw shots,”- I catch up em in a loop. I parse patterns, computer diss. Send ‘em back in reboot.” Hold on, Chat got bars.”
