British Airways Flight Turns Into Full-On Sunday Service Mid-Air Viral

Passengers on a flight from London to Jamaica took to the aisles to sing and pray, but not everyone was feeling it.

It’s not uncommon for airline passengers to say a quiet prayer to themselves before their flight takes off or even clap with relief when the pilot lands their plane safely. But passengers on a British Airways flight from London’s Heathrow Airport to Jamaica took things to the next level, setting off a full-on Sunday service on their international flight.

A now-viral video shows a man standing in the aisle praying loudly mid-flight while another woman (also standing) sings a gospel song. And while some of the other passengers on board stood and sang along with her, others were not moved to join in. You can hear one voice on the video tell the worshipers that the fasten seatbelt sign is on – a not-so-subtle way of telling them to take the service back to their seats. One passenger said the service started one hour into the nine-hour flight and lasted more than two hours.

Footage shared on TikTok of the London Heathrow to Jamaica flight shows a woman standing in the aisle, singing, waving and shouting at passengers until they joined in and clapped along. The videos, viewed over 900,000 times collectively, were shared by fellow traveller Maxine Munroe, 56, who said the singing and praying began one hour into the nine-hour flight, and lasted for approximately two and a half hours. #fyp #travel #australia #flight

Folks who saw the video online were not shy about sharing how annoyed they were with this kind of in-flight service.

“I love the Lord, but this would have pissed me off!” wrote someone on Instagram.

Another commenter chimed in, saying that travelers deserve to travel in peace, especially since not everyone flying is going on vacation.

“Not everyone is travelling to have a holiday/fun! Some people are going to bury their loved ones. Sing a song or two, but for 3 hours?! is disrespectful to those who want to travel in peace,” wrote another commenter on Instagram.

But one commenter was on the fence, admitting that while airplane passengers could definitely use a little spiritual covering while they’re 30,000 feet in the air, the prayer service should be short and sweet.

“I’m torn cos you need the lord more than ever flying in a tin can at that height, if the plane dropped everyone would be praying athiest or not, i think it could it be nice but 3 hours strong,” wrote someone on Instagram.
