If you’ve spent any time on social media over the last 48 hours, then you may have seen a bevy of posts dealing with Beyoncé, Brandy and her brother Ray J. But what exactly is the hubbub all about and why are the two singer’s fanbases going at online? Let’s dig into it.

As you might suspect, this whole ordeal was kicked off a couple days ago after Ray J posted a video to his Instagram “crashing out” over the fact that Beyoncé had not spoken to his sister at any point when she visited for Brandy’s “The Boy Is Mine” tour. As we previously told you, Brandy is co-headlining the tour with fellow singer Monica with Kelly Rowland and Mya serving as opening acts.

Within the past few days, pictures had surfaced on social media from Bey and Miss Tina that showed Bey there in support of Kelly Rowland. There’s even a photo with Bey, Kelly and Monica. But fans were quick to notice that there hasn’t been a picture yet of Bey and Brandy. Ray J also noticed that there was no picture and subsequently hopped on Instagram to urge Bey and Jay to take one, speak to his sister and ultimately act right.

Ray J had a few things to get off his chest about Jay-Z and Beyoncé. The singer hopped on Instagram to call out the couple for never showing love to Brandy when they visit “The Boy Is Mine Tour.” As you know, Bey’s bestie Kelly Rowland is also on the tour. Is Ray speaking facts or being dramatic?

“For y’all to come to everyone of Brandy and Monica’s shows and never say what’s up to B and take all the pictures–I mean. I don’t like it. And I love you Jay and I love you Bey, please like you guys are the biggest two stars in the world. So we know you there, so just you know. Y’all walk by Brandy room, just pull up, say ‘what’s up B, have a good show,’” Ray J said in part.

He also made it clear that he was making the video on his own accord and that no one in his family told him to say anything.

To make matters even worse, there’s an additional video floating around of Bey nearly “disappearing” backstage while Brandy is walking through and the two of them didn’t speak there. Though a security guard could be heard telling people to step to the side while Brandy was making her way through, it was enough for some people to further stoke the flames of a potential problem between the two–despite the fact that some were questioning the validity of the video.

Well, now we might have a clue as to why Bey and Brandy weren’t spotted with each other. During Thursday’s (Dec. 4) “The Breakfast Club,” cohost Loren Lorosa stated that sources close to the tour later confirmed that neither Bey or Brandy really “rock with” each other like that. They also stated that the relationship between the two artists was fractured way back when once it became clear that the “Renaissance” singer’s star was rising bigger than Brandy’s and that she was becoming more of the “front girl” in the music industry.

Yet and still there has been no official word from either Brandy’s camp or Bey’s camp addressing the situation. There has been talk of Jay-Z seemingly responding to Ray’s video with one entertainment blogger posting a screenshot of Jay allegedly writing “he crazy” under Ray J’s aforementioned video.

But after searching through the comments section, it seems Jay’s words aren’t there. Whether or not it was a quick post-and-delete remains to be seen, but it will be interesting to see whether or not the famous couple do put out some sort of response moving forward.
