If you’ve spent any time on TikTok, you know that The Keith Lee Effect is real. The food critic and social media star shares his straight no chaser reviews of restaurants across the country with over 17 million followers, and a 10 out of 10 from him can turn an obscure mom and pop shop into a tourist destination.

Lee frequently features his family in his posts, including his wife, Ronni, and their daughters, Karter and Riley. But in a September 27 post, he introduced the newest member of the family, Kardigan Marcus Lee, who was born on September 24. And because he’s Keith Lee, he couldn’t share the news of his newborn son without giving the whole experience a rating like only he can.
“Me and my wife are in Dallas, Texas, and we just left the hospital after being there for two days because she’s been cooking something for nine months, and I keep hearing it’s the best thing that ever happened to us,” he told his followers in a TikTok video.
He shared a photo dump from their birth experience, including a delicious spread from the hospital chef.
“We not only received full lodging, food, 24-hour bedside service, and I had a half a bed slash couch that I could sleep on,” he said. “ The chef at the hospital found out we was there, and he brought her a full-course meal just for me and my wife. God is amazing.”
The proud papa went on to praise their family’s medical team, which included Black female doctors, nurses and doulas for helping to make sure their experience was as safe and comfortable as possible.
“It’s so important that we support Black women, that we embrace Black women and we protect Black women,” he said.
Lee ended his post giving his new 7 pound bundle a joy a 10 out of 10, telling fans that he and his family might be MIA from social media for a while as they settle in to life with a newborn.
“If y’all don’t see us for a minute, that is why. We gone be out focusing on family, focusing on baby, focusing on mom,” he said.
The now-viral post has received nearly 300,000 likes and more than 9,500 comments from fans who wanted to welcome the newest member of the family.
“Congratulations y’all this was the cutest announcement. you got my cheeks hurting from smiling so hard!!!” wrote someone on TikTok.
