Bobby Brown is hoping to put an end to TV One’s upcoming Bobbi Kristina biopic, by any means necessary. The R&B singer has filed a lawsuit in federal court in New York City against TV One over what he calls events in the film that are “defamatory and untrue.”

TV One’s Bobbi Kristina biopic focuses on the life of Bobby Brown’s and Whitney Houston’s only child, who died two years ago after being found unconscious in the bathtub of her Atlanta home.

In the biopic, Brown is portrayed as a hard-core drug user who neglected his daughter. Brown says that producers Tracey Baker-Simmons and Wanda Shelley took advantage of their previous working relationship on the reality show Being Bobby Brown to make the movie, according to E! News.

In addition to attempting to stop the airing of the biopic, Brown is seeking $1 million in damages from the production companies, TV One LLC and Simmons Shelley entertainment.

It doesn’t seem like TV One is going to back down. In a statement to E!, the network stated, “We are aware of the reported legal challenge by Bobby Brown regarding the film Bobbi Kristina and are taking appropriate steps on behalf of our network to respond. While we are not able to address our legal response at this time, we stand by the film and its representation of this period in Bobbi Kristina’s life.”
