Black Twitter is Convinced It Knows Why Trump Suddenly Changed His Tune About the Epstein Files

After months of refusing to release the Epstein files, Trump suddenly has a change of heart as Congress is set to vote on the matter.

At the 11th hour, President Donald Trump changed his tune over the release of the Jeffery Epstein files, and Black Twitter is convinced it knows why.

Trump spent months dodging questions and assuring to the American people that there’s nothing in the files of relevance. Now, his change of heart comes on the heels of damaging emails that have had the whole world talking about his questionable relationship with the convicted child sex offender.

He took to Truth Social on Sunday night, urging House Republicans to release the files. “House Republicans should vote to release the Epstein files, because we have nothing to hide, and it’s time to move on from this Democrat Hoax,” he wrote. “I DON’T CARE! All I do care about is that Republicans get BACK ON POINT,” he continued.

While Trump says he has “nothing to hide” now, many are wondering why the sudden change of heart. Black folks online theorized Trump wants to files released because he’s allegedly already destroyed any damning evidence. “Translation his DOJ flunkies have scrubbed all the incriminating evidence. NOTHING that comes out of a trump DOJ can be trusted,” @eddluxe said on X.

“If [you] can’t beat them, join them…. and pretend to be the hero who got it done,” @GichuhoMungai tweeted.

We previously told you the House Committee released 20,000 files connected to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein. Trump was mentioned by name several times, including in one email where Epstein called Trump a “dog that hasn’t barked” yet. There’s no secret that he and the president maintained a friendship prior to Epstein’s arrest in 2019. After he was convicted, Trump distanced himself for the horrific allegations against his former friend.

“There’s no reason for someone to flip flop this hard unless they’ve received enough assurances that whatever’s relevant to them has been sufficiently scrubbed,” @JayRachelle wrote. “I can’t imagine what’s actually in those files. We’ll never know the full extent.”

“This means they scrubbed his name now,” @shannon_sense said.

Trump claimed on Truth Social that some Republicans are being “used” by the Democrats to try to take him down. “And we can’t let that happen,” the president wrote. Self-proclaimed MAGA politicians like Ga. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene have been outspoken about the files. This even led to Trump revoked his endorsement of Greene, who said she still supports the president.

“Trump has now done a U-turn and has asked the Republican to vote for the of the Epstein files because he was going to lose the vote anyway,” @I_amMukhtar wrote.

@Yousavewithus said on X, “Only calling for release now feels more like damage control than honesty.”

“Said after 100,000 mentions of Trump were redacted from them,” @OfTheMobyDick tweeted. “Said after every Republican mentioned was redacted. The redactions are hiding!

Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson has tried his best to stop Congress on voting on the Epstein files, but Ariz. Rep.-elect Adelita Grijalva was sworn into office last week, making her the one vote Democrats needed to get the EPstein files back on the voting docket, POLITICO reported.

“Trump has clean hands,” Johnson told Fox News of Trump. “He’s not worried about it. I talk to him all the time. He has nothing to do with this. He’s frustrated that they’re turning it into a political issue.”

Congress is set to vote on releasing the files this week.
