A Black DoorDash driver failed to deliver an order last month in Milwaukee, and what the customer is accused of doing afterwards left her with a damaged car… and trauma.

According to reports, Faith Morris said she picked up an order from Fryerz on July 11 around 2 a.m. Service was lost on her phone, subsequently losing connection with the DoorDash app. Because she “didn’t know exactly what the address was,” she was unable to complete the delivery, so she returned home and contacted DoorDash to cancel it once she connected back to Wi-Fi.
“The order disappeared,” Morris said. “So usually that means that they cleared the order, or something like that,” but the customer allegedly called her repeatedly and accused her of stealing the food. But that’s only the beginning.
12 News obtained a search warrant which included video footage from Morris’ Ring camera. In it, according to reports, the customer knocks on her door before smashing Morris’ car with a tire iron. The DoorDash order was still in the backseat. Morris was at home at the time, and described the ordeal was “like a movie. It was so crazy just to be sitting there and be like totally defenseless.” Morris says she believe the food delivery’s GPS function allowed the hangry customer to see her location because the app didn’t cancel the order when she attempted to do so. “Are you serious?” Morris asked. “One of your customers just came over here and destroyed my car, over 10 chicken wings that didn’t even have lemon pepper on them.” Morris said her 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander sustained around $6,000 in damages and DoorDash was her only source of income.
A DoorDash support agent admitted to the outlet that a representative provided the customer with confidential information, “violating the policy,” and issued an apology.
Morris said she and her four children plan to leave the Milwaukee-area entirely because they don’t feel safe at home. “I had to break my lease, and I have to be out of this place in 26 days,” Morris said. “I don’t even know where I’m going. I don’t have no place to take my kids.”
In a statement to 12 News, the app called the customer’s actions “completely uncalled for, unacceptable, and disturbing.” They also confirmed the customer has been “permanently banned from our platform.” Per court records, Milwaukee police did obtain the customer’s name and address from DoorDash. No arrests have been made.
