Four senior law enforcement officials told NBC News the suspected shooter has been identified as Shane Devon Tamura, 27, from Las Vegas, Nevada. His motive has not been reported.

According to reports, the gunman, who walked into the 634-foot skyscraper  which contains offices for Blackstone, financial firms, and the NFL headquarters, was found dead on the 33rd floor of the building after barricading himself. Law enforcement officials told NBC News he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Authorities located identification on Tamura’s body, including a concealed carry permit from Las Vegas.

Officials are asking people to avoid areas near East 52nd Street between Park Avenue and Lexington Avenue due to police activity. Police said the shooting was carried out by a lone gunman.

Cellphone video taken from a nearby building shows more than a dozen cops entering the building on Park Ave.

Mayor Eric Adams confirmed the shooting “with multiple injuries” in a video on X. “The perpetrator, the lone perpetrator, is neutralized at this time,” he said.

Black Twitter took to the app to share their reactions to the shooting.

Another woman who says she was in the area during the shooting uploaded a TikTok about the ordeal.

The investigation is ongoing. Law enforcement have tentatively scheduled a press conference for 10 p.m. ET Monday evening.
