Although not much is known at this time about the connection between the two men or the circumstances that led to Grantβs death, neighbors say they heard a fight happening in the hallway of a Bronx apartment building on the afternoon of November 10 and called the police, according to the New York Daily News.
By the time officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Grantβs body inside an apartment with a knife βlodged in his chestβ as well as cuts on his hands and feet.
Saxonβs mother told the New York Daily News her son didnβt remember much about the two menβs final encounter but that she believes there is a lot more to the story.
βI donβt know what happened, but I can tell yβall based on what I do know that itβs not going to be as simple as you want to make it. Dynus didnβt just decide to murder somebody,β she said. βDynus will protect himself, heβs a human being, you know what Iβm saying. Heβs young. I donβt know what kind of situation he had got himself into.β
Meanwhile, Grantβs family is trying to cope with their loss of their loved one and care for the daughter he left behind.
βHe was just a loving kid who was there for his family and his daughter. Itβs just so sad that she has to grow up without a father,β Christopher Grant, the victimβs father told the Daily News.Β
