As we’ve previously reported, elected officials and residents of cities all across the country are doing everything they can to put the brakes on President Donald Trump’s plan to deploy National Guard troops to their states.

But while the cities are fighting back, using protests and lawsuits to let the administration know that the military isn’t welcome, the president is moving full steam ahead, even claiming that some Black women in Chicago are happy about what he’s doing.
“You have women, beautiful, Black women walking around with MAGA hats, ‘Please let the president in, and we don’t care how he does it,’” Trump told reporters during a press conference on October 16. “They’re not interested in National Guard, Army, Navy, bring ‘em in, Marines. Bring in the Marines. They just want the crime to stop.”
But while the president uttered those words with a completely straight face, folks online are calling BS, especially Black folks who call the Windy City home.
One pissed off person didn’t hold back, writing on Instagram that Chicago has no love for Trump.
“Where ???? YOURE lying, we hate you!!! 92% of us despise you! Chicago here, we’re all extremely upset this is even a thing,” they wrote.
Other commenters called Trump’s statement delusional, arguing that the only way you’d catch a Black woman wearing a MAGA hat is if it were a costume.
“Beautiful black women wearing MAGA hats????!! Does he mean as a Halloween costume?” wrote someone on Instagram.
Another commenter on TikTok poked a major hole in Trump’s argument, pointing out a very important reason why Black women wouldn’t be caught dead wearing MAGA hats that has absolutely nothing to do with politics.
They wrote, “Black women aren’t walking around in hats. We don’t play like that about our hair.”
