On another episode of “President Donald Trump trolling former President Barack Obama,” it seems Trump and his supporters are getting more creative with their jabs at the 44th president. But after Trump reposted a meme of Obama as O.J. Simpson, Black folks online weren’t having it.

The president took to Truth Social, a “free-speech” alternative to mainstream social media networks majority owned by Trump, to reimagine the infamous police chase involving Simpson in 1994. Obama’s face was edited onto the late-NFL player and acquitted murder suspect’s face. But that wasn’t all. Trump and Vice President JD Vance were edited on two cops’ faces in the meme.
This is just the latest jab at the former president after Trump’s administration announced plans to investigate Obama for treason. First, Trump posted an AI-generated video of Obama being arrested. Now, this O.J. Simpson meme is throwing a lot of Black folks off.
@JBvTheWorld simply tweeted, “He is a child.”
Another user on X suggested the president should put his energy into other more pressing issues instead of trolling the first Black president. “If he put half as much effort into running the country as he does churning out these ridiculous memes, maybe he wouldn’t be the most unpopular President in American history,” @SageAmenti wrote.
Recent polls show Trump is “more unpopular than at any other point in his presidency, and the numbers are getting worse,” MSNBC reported.
“This can’t be real. He’s a mess,” @yayayaners said of the Simpson meme. Other folks pointed out the irony in Trump comparing Simpson to Obama. “Also—OJ got away with it,” @AkilahObviously said.
Many had colorful insults in response to Trump’s trolling. He’s “just pretending like he ain’t the one with 34 f*****g felonies,” @ray_bay_bay said on TikTok. “This really our president y’all– not my president! But this is really the United States of America’s president,” she continued. “He’s out here trolling a previous president just to try to get heat off of him.”
On X, @MoetownLee said, “Then yall wondered why Michelle stood on business. She wasn’t about to let them folks play in her face.” While many people are still confused about the motivation behind Trump’s attack on Obama, others say they have figured it out.
Journalist Don Lemon warned folks about what is potentially motivating this attack on Obama. “Trump tries to deflect by posting a doctored image of him and J.D. Vance chasing down Obama in a parody of the O.J. Simpson Bronco chase,” Lemon wrote on TikTok. “Don’t be distracted—release the Epstein files!”
Trump is still under fire after refusing the release the infamous Jeffery Epstein files– which detail the investigation into the child sex trafficker and disgraced business man.
