It’s always a fun day when Blue Ivy and Rumi Carter are back in the news and Friday was no exception. After we tell you what we just learned about them, you’ll understand why we’re so excited!

Our joy stems from an all-new interview between Mathew Knowles, famous father of Beyonce and Solange, and Don Lemon. During their discussion, they talked about the recently ended “Cowboy Carter Tour,” and all the success it amassed. But where out ears really perked up was when the topic got onto his aforementioned grandchildren and their beloved appearances at every tour stop.
Speaking to Blue Ivy specifically, Mathew praised his granddaughter for not internalizing the negative feedback she received for her dancing skills during the “Renaissance Tour” and instead using it as fuel to better herself. Noting her passion, Mathew said that he’s seen her work hard at getting better to the point to where she could show up onstage opposite her famous mom and show out the way she did.
However, while fans are (rightfully) talking about Blue, Mathew then made a comment that had us all pausing in excitement.
“Watch out for Rumi though. Rumi’s gonna have the voice…Rumi has the voice,” he said.
He went on to add: “Blue Ivy’s also a songwriter, I think it’s going to be a wonderful partnership there and combination.”
Wait, wait, wait! Stop the presses! Are you telling us that we could potentially see another sister duo come on the scene? We haven’t seen a super successful pair like that since ChloexHalle popped out with their “Ungodly Hour” album.
A forthcoming Blue and Rumi collab with the latter on the vocals and Blue busting down an eight-count sounds like something we need to see not now, but right now. Wow!
Our excitement aside, first things do come first which means going down this musical direction has to be something that they both really want to do, even though it seems like it already is. Either way, Mathew assured Lemon that he nor anyone else in the family would push them into doing anything if their heart ultimately wasn’t in it.
“As long as they’re having fun and it’s what they want to do. As parents, we never forced Beyonce or Solange to any particular area. We wanted the to find their passion and then we supported them when we realized that was their passion. But we exposed them to a whole lot of things,” Mathew said.
