Doug E. Fresh

Human Beat Box Doug E. Fresh, hit the stage at The Root 100 in 2023 after winning an award for his organization, Hip Hop Public Health, which teaches health literacy to overlooked communities. He teamed up with neurologist Dr. Olajide Williams to create the much-needed educational resource center.

As last year’s headliner, Grammy Award-winning singer Ledisi gave all Root 100 attendees a special performance as she got on stage in a striking red suit that grabbed everybody’s attention.
