A Look into Kevin Hart’s Mansion, and The Estates of Other Black Celebs Including Lil Baby, Rupaul —And More

Lenny Kravitz, Scottie Pipen, Shonda Rhimes and Carmelo Anthony are just a few of the celebs who gave AD our favorite tours of their happy places.

Most celebrities like to keep their private lives private. So when they open the door to let us in, we can’t help but step inside (very cutesy, of course).

Shannon Sharpe Faces $50M Lawsuit Amid Chilling Abuse Accusations And Leaked Messages

Architectural Digest’s Open Door series gives fans a sneak peek inside the homes of some of the hottest celebrities, showing us where they enjoy their favorite family meals, entertain their friends and family and unwind at the end of a long day.

Since this is probably as close as we’ll ever get to these stars’ homes, we’ve rounded up some of our favorite tours of Black celebrity spaces. Enjoy!

Winnie Harlow

Hollywood glam was the design inspiration for supermodel Winnie Harlow’s home, as she told AD in 2023. We love the neutral furniture pieces and eye-catching accents like the greenery and the photo of her above the fireplace.

Lil Baby

Lil Baby shared his Atlanta bachelor pad with AD in August 2023. We love the open floor plan and high ceilings that let plenty of sunlight in.

Devin Booker

NBA star Devin Booker shared his Phoenix home with AD in 2022. With help from LA-based firm Clements Design, he was able to create a bright, relaxing space that is perfect for relaxing.

Naomi Campbell

In 2021, actress and model Naomi Campbell took Architectural Digest to her villa in Malindi, Kenya. The place Campbell says she goes to unplug was designed to be a calming space. “You just want to read and be with yourself,” she said.

Shonda Rhimes

In March 2022, Shonda Rhimes’ let Architectural Digest inside her Upper East Side Manhattan apartment, and we couldn’t help but fall in love with the beautifully bold mixture of color and texture throughout. The space, which she said was designed to give her multiple places to work, is definitely giving us “Bridgerton” vibes.

Lenny Kravitz

Rocker Lenny Kravitz’ Brazilian farm compound was the subject of an AD “Open Door” episode in 2019. Far away from Hollywood, the “Fly Away” singer’s home was built on an 18th-century coffee plantation.

Carmelo Anthony

Former NBA star Carmelo Anthony loves art, and he has several amazing pieces throughout his Westchester, New York home. He shared some of his favorites with Architectural Digest in 2023,

Kerry Washington

When she’s in New York City, Kerry Washington enjoys the view from her Manhattan apartment that overlooks the Hudson River. She shared the space, designed with help from Restoration Hardware, with Architectural Digest in 2019.

Alicia Keys & Swizz Beats

Music superstars Alicia Keys and Swizz Beats gave AD a tour of their La Jolla, California home in 2022. The space, which has a stunning ocean view has plenty of windows that allow them to take it all in.

RuPaul

We loved practically every room in RuPaul’s Beverly Hills home when he showed it off to AD in 2023. But if we had to choose a favorite space, this dressing area would be it.

Scottie Pipen

Former NBA star Scottie Pippen shared his Chicago-area mansion with AD in 2021. Everything about the inside, from the movie room to the indoor basketball court, is impressive. But the outside is something to see. Talk about curb appeal!

Viola Davis and Julius Tennon

Actors Viola Davis and Julius Tennon told AD that the den is one of their favorite places in their Los Angeles home, and it’s the place where most of the conversations happen. They shared their space and their comfy couch – the focal point of the room – with Architectural Digest in January 2023.

Justina Blakeney

We knew Jungalow founder Justina Blakeney’s home would be full of color. And when she shared her space with Architectural Digest in May 2022, the designer and artist did not let us down.

Kevin Hart

Actor/comedian Kevin Hart opened the doors of his 40,000 square foot Hollywood office space to Architectural Digest in January 2024. Designed to encourage creativity, there is plenty of light and lots of cozy seating areas.
