Are these earrings racist? Dolce & Gabbana has responded to the backlash over its debut of earrings in the “Blackamoor” style, saying they simply represent ornaments found in Sicilian homes. We think anyone sporting jewelry in a style that some say “romanticizes slavery” is also going to need to wear a T-shirt explaining how that works in great detail, so hopefully D&G is designing those as well.
