Angel Reese just gave her mom quite the birthday present. The WBNA star revealed her heartwarming gift for her mother, Angel Webb Reese, in the latest video on her YouTube channel, “Unapologetically Angel.” While the two discussed Reese’s career thus far and massive rise to fame, Reese saved the best part for later in the episode, when she brought up the fact that it was her mom’s birthday.
Presenting a birthday cake to her mom, Reese explained, “Before we sing ‘Happy Birthday,’ you said that if your mortgage was paid off you would retire or you won’t work.” She continued, “You can pick if you want to work still, your mortgage today has been paid.”

The surprise shocked her mother so much, that she almost dropped the cake that an assistant had just given her. Reese then took the time to explain the situation even more to her mother.
“Today your mortgage has been paid, you ain’t got to worry about your mortgage no more and if you want to still work and keep yourself, you can keep yourself busy,” she said.
Later on Reese explained that it was her “biggest goal in life” to help her mom retire by paying off her mortgage. “You’re a hard-working woman, you don’t need me for no money,” she added. “That’s why I always say, ‘She never needed me for no money.’”

As People reports, Reese has nabbed some pretty big brand deals as of late, including her latest with McDonalds, becoming their first female athlete with her very own special meal.
Just two years ago, USA Today reported that Reese had in 2023 earned an estimated $1.7 million in brand deals alone. She had landed endorsements from Playstation, Raising Canes, Coach, and more at the time, and that was all when she was still a college athlete.
