In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly released on Tuesday, ANTM cycle nine contestant Ambreal Williams revealed a secret that she and the other girls had while filming. Specifically, she shared that they all decided to come up with an inside joke and a coded language that only they knew about to help them as the frustrating season progressed. This language took centerstage when Williams eventually found herself in the bottom two and was voted off by Banks and the rest of the judges.

“We had an inside joke within the group,” Williams told EW. “It was a ‘f*ck you.’ So, when I was eliminated, you saw me [raise my hands] and walk off the stage.”

The pose Williams is referring to specifically is made to look like she’s throwing up a basketball in a far off hoop. The scene itself is virtually non-existent on social media, but those who purchased the season from YouTube or Prime Video can catch it in the ninth episode.

However, Williams said she knew her time was limited when she found out she was originally supposed to go home during episode six but ended up staying a bit longer due to another contestant dropping out. However, as Banks referred to her looks and onscreen modeling as “hoochie” one too many times, she knew she’d be facing the end of the road soon.

What’s more is Williams’ admission comes just weeks after another ANTM alum revealed in her memoir, “You Wanna Be On Top? A Memoir of Makeovers, Manipulation, and Not Becoming America’s Next Top Model,” that judge Jay Manuel appeared to be more harsh towards Williams than any other model that season. Referencing the day they had to shoot on the rooftop of a hotel in Los Angeles, Sarah Hartshorne said that Williams had a fear of heights and was visibly nervous about the photoshoot–and seeing with Manuel.

“Mr. Jay didn’t get along with anybody, but he had been especially hostile with Ambreal at every shoot,” Hartshorne alleged per EW. “She was so freaked out, she could barely look up at Mr. Jay as he walked over and told us we’d be posing on a giant platform, to create the illusion that we were perched on the edge of the building.”
