Summer is here, which means it’s time to go to the movies. Hollywood has cooked up plenty of flicks for everyone this year, from thrilling sports dramas like “F1,” the return of fan-favorite franchises like “Jurassic Park,” and films for the whole family like “Smurfs.” Oh, and Spike Lee is back with a brand new movie. Jurassic Park fans, get ready for a new chapter. The beloved film franchise is back for its seventh film overall, reuniting viewers with terrifying dinosaurs in the present day. This time, two-time Academy Award-winner Mahershala Ali joins in on the fun, in what is sure to be one of the biggest blockbusters of the year.

Heads of State
Idris Elba’s next film is here. “Heads of State” is an action comedy film where the movie star plays the Prime Minister of the U.K., opposite John Cena, who plays the President of the United States. While the two begin as adversaries, they have to put their differences aside when a greater threat looms.

40 Acres
The next great post-apocalyptic thriller is in theaters next month. Danielle Deadwyler stars in “40 Acres,” a film set in the near future, following the descendants of African American farmers who fight for their lives after a series of plagues and wars “leave society in ruins.”

Madea’s Destination Wedding
Madea returns once again. The beloved Tyler Perry character is back for her 13th film, this time taking viewers to a destination wedding. Just in time for the summer, we’re sure Tyler Perry’s latest will be one of Netflix’s biggest hits of the year.

Smurfs
We just can’t quit The Smurfs. Perfect for the whole family, the new Smurfs movie once again follows the lovable animated characters as they make their way to the real world. This time, Rihanna joins in on the fun, voicing Smurfette.

Spike Lee’s Highest 2 Lowest
A new Spike Lee joint is here. With “Highest 2 Lowest,” Lee reunites with Denzel Washington in what is sure to be one of the biggest films of the year.
