Hollywood has cooked up plenty of flicks for everyone this year, from thrilling sports dramas like “F1,” the return of fan-favorite franchises like “Jurassic Park,” and films for the whole family like “Smurfs.” Oh, and Spike Lee is back with a brand new…

Just in time for the holiday weekend, we’ve got you covered with a list of movies for you to watch this summer.

Tyler Perry Deals ‘Mind Crack’, According to Judge Joe Brown

The Unholy Trinity

Now in theaters, “The Unholy Trinity” is Samuel L. Jackson’s latest film, which sees the acclaimed actor starring opposite Piers Brosnan. Set in the Wild West, this film is sure to scratch the action-adventure itch.

F1

Come for the next great sports film, stay for Damson Idris’ star turn. “F1,” starring the “Snowfall” actor and Brad Pitt, is a thrilling sports film tackling one of the greatest racing championships in the world. If you didn’t already know Damson’s name before, you certainly will now.

Jurassic World

Jurassic Park fans, get ready for a new chapter. The beloved film franchise is back for its seventh film overall, reuniting viewers with terrifying dinosaurs in the present day. This time, two-time Academy Award-winner Mahershala Ali joins in on the fun, in what is sure to be one of the biggest blockbusters of the year.

“Jurassic World Rebirth” premieres in theaters on July 2.

Heads of State

Idris Elba’s next film is here. “Heads of State” is an action comedy film where the movie star plays the Prime Minister of the U.K., opposite John Cena, who plays the President of the United States. While the two begin as adversaries, they have to put their differences aside when a greater threat looms.

“Heads of State” premieres July 2, 2025 on Prime Video.

40 Acres

The next great post-apocalyptic thriller is in theaters next month. Danielle Deadwyler stars in “40 Acres,” a film set in the near future, following the descendants of African American farmers who fight for their lives after a series of plagues and wars “leave society in ruins.”

“40 Acres” hits theaters on July 2.

The Old Guard 2

Netflix is finally dropping a sequel to one of its greatest action films. “The Old Guard 2” reuinites viewers with this unique superhero world, as Kiki Layne, Chiwetel Ejiofor and more return to their beloved roles.

Madea’s Destination Wedding

Madea returns once again. The beloved Tyler Perry character is back for her 13th film, this time taking viewers to a destination wedding. Just in time for the summer, we’re sure Tyler Perry’s latest will be one of Netflix’s biggest hits of the year.

“Madea’s Destination Wedding” premieres July 11th.

Smurfs

We just can’t quit The Smurfs. Perfect for the whole family, the new Smurfs movie once again follows the lovable animated characters as they make their way to the real world. This time, Rihanna joins in on the fun, voicing Smurfette.

“Smurfs” hits theaters on July 18th.

Spike Lee’s Highest 2 Lowest

A new Spike Lee joint is here. With “Highest 2 Lowest,” Lee reunites with Denzel Washington in what is sure to be one of the biggest films of the year.

“Highest 2 Lowest” premieres in theaters on August 15th and on AppleTV+ on September 5th.

Caught Stealing

“Caught Stealing” is another crime thriller film coming to theaters this summer. Starring Austin Butler and Zoë Kravitz, the film boasts a star-studded ensemble featuring everyone from Regina King to Bad Bunny.

“Caught Stealing” hits theaters August 29th.
