A suspected 28-year-old Michigan creep is facing sexual assault charges after authorities say he was caught naked in a bedroom with his Airbnb host’s 7-year-old daughter.
According to the BBC, Derrick Kinchen rented a spare bedroom of a family’s home in Minnetonka, Minn., for a friend’s wedding over the weekend. Police say Kinchen got home from the wedding early Sunday morning and was ultimately caught naked in a bedroom where the host’s young daughter was sleeping.
Kinchen, 28, attempted to run away but was eventually found by a police dog hiding under a neighbor’s fishing boat after a manhunt, authorities said. He has since been charged with second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a victim younger than 13.
Airbnb has banned Kinchen from its website, and the Silicon Valley company is working with police and the family.
“The reported abhorrent behavior has no place on Airbnb and we will not tolerate it,” Airbnb spokesperson Ben Breit said. “None of our hosts should ever have to deal with anything like this.”
