After Years of Drama, Ray J’s Beef With the Kardashians Takes Explosive New Turn

Things between Ray J and his ex Kim Kardashian have just escalated to a whole new, legally serious level. But sadly, this is yet another notch in their ongoing issues with each other. Don’t worry, we’ll break it down.

On Wednesday, it was announced Ray J had been hit with a brand new defamation suit thanks to Kim and her mother Kris Jenner. The legal move comes just one week after the “Last Wish” singer made a viral claim during a livestream with influencer Chrisean Rock that he was working with the federal government to help them build a RICO case against the two aforementioned women, per Page Six.

“The federal RICO I’m about to drop on Kim and Kris is about to be crazy. I’m talking about, I’m on the news every day, I’m gonna say a lot of sh*t. Anybody that is cool with Kim, they need to tell her now: The feds is coming. There’s nothing I can do about it,” he said at the time.

Those sentiments echoed ones he made earlier this year in May in the “TMZ Presents: United States vs. Sean Combs: Inside the Diddy Trial” documentary, where he said that  “racketeering charges against the Kardashians would be appropriate.”

Now, thanks to his provocative words, he’s facing an entire lawsuit from his ex and her mother. Lawyers for the two women reference his actions as yet another attempt for him to “attach himself” and “exploit their prominence for personal gain,” because he still can’t get over the fact that he and Kim have been done romantically for decades.

That notion alone makes you wonder just how things soured so bad between all of them to begin with?

I mean, we all know that Ray J and Kim’s infamous 2007 sex tap was the crux of the Kardashian’s family fame. Prior to that Kim was working as a stylist to his sister Brandy and hadn’t gained any sort of real clout or prominence.

But things would all change after their sex tape was “leaked” and subsequently took over the internet and took pop culture by storm. In the years since, the Kardashians have been able to flip that sordid moment into a multi-million dollar family empire with businesses in various industries like the beauty industry, modeling, women’s wear and more.

All the while though, Ray J’s career alternatively hasn’t seen an iota of the same type of success. Sure, his song “Sexy Can I” peaked at number three on Hot 100 chart one year after the sex tape dropped. And sure, he secured his own reality dating show the year after that. And yes, he’s remained a reality TV staple—but his consistent digs at the Kardashians are arguably more known than any of his accomplishments.

Who could forget his 2013 song “I Hit it First?” when he distastefully brought back up the tape and how he was first sexually involved with Kim. Things would only go from bad to worse nearly a decade later when he alleged that Kris “hand-picked” which tape would be best to publicize, noting that there were two tapes shot in two different locations and she watched both to see which one her daughter “looked the best in.” Later, he called them both out again for alleging that he was holding another sex tape over their heads and that claimed that the whole incident was a deal agreed upon by all of them in the first place.

As time went on, other claims from Ray J against the two women have ranged from him and Kim having to “reshoot” the tape at the behest of Kris to OnlyFans possibly not even being a thing if he hadn’t of done what they did all those years ago.

So it’s really no wonder why now, after all these shots against them in the public eye, the Kardashians are taking major steps to get Ray J to shut his trap once and for all. Maybe this defamation suit will be the thing he needs in order to finally move past this famous family. But until then, we have no doubt, this will be entertaining and interesting to see play out.
