The famous home from “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” is back on the market after nearly 50 years, which means the expensive home will have to make room for new royalty—but what exactly will they be getting? Let’s talk about it.

While the home originally sold for $732,000 when it was first put on the market, as of 2020, its worth was right at $6.5 million. The current listing price is unknown but per TMZ its just under $30 million. This gorgeous house spans across 6,400 square feet and boasts five bedrooms and bathrooms.
While the inside of the house more than likely doesn’t look like what it did back when it was all decked out for that iconic and rare Airbnb rental in 2020 (more on that later), now that it’s up for sale—let’s still take a look back at what it used to look like so you can get a good gauge for what’s in store for the new owners!
All About “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air”

As you may recall, “The Fresh Prince” hit small screens back in 1990 on NBC and was the major project that catapulted then-rapper Will Smith into mainstream fame. In it, he starred “Will Smith” as a street-smart kid from West Philly who gets sent to live with his wealthy relatives in Bel-Air. The show also starred: James Avery, Janet Hubert (later Daphne Maxwell Reid), Alfonso Ribeiro, Karyn Parsons, Joseph Marcell, and Tatyana Ali.
While the show was filled with more than it’s fair share of laughs, it also married comedy with real conversations about race, class, and Black family dynamics. And it helped shape Black representation on TV in the 90s. And there was the mansion packed with Black people.
One Little-Known Fact About the “Bel-Air” Mansion

Despite the fictional show taking place in Bel-Air, the home that you saw in the show is actually located in Brentwood, about three miles away from the place. But it’s still an pricey neighborhood. Shots of the home were only used for exterior establishing videos in the series, all the interior shots were filmed in a studio in LA.
Can You Visit the “Fresh Prince” House?

While it’s going be tough to see the home now that it’s up for sale, if you’re local to the Brentwood area, you could take a ride over to Bristol Avenue, as that’s the general street where the mansion is located.
Iconic Exterior

We can just see Smith pulling up in that yellow taxi and Jazz (played by Smith’s real life best friend DJ Jazzy Jeff) getting tossed out that front door now.
Front Yard Fountain

What’s a fancy-schmancy home like this without a water feature out front, right? Just wait until we get to the backyard though.
Entry Room

Remember when we said this home was rented out by Airbnb in 2020? Well this was part of what they had to offer their guests! Once you stroll through the walkway at the front, you’re greeted by a fun, mini-play room of sorts that featured a foosball table and piano.
“Will Smith’s Wing”

If you were interested in booking the “Fresh Prince” Airbnb, two guests were able to rent out five nights for $30 a night, in honor of show’s 30th anniversary back then. The main sleeping area inside—dubbed “Will Smith’s Wing”—was set up to resemble the pool house that Will Smith’s eponymous character abd Alfonso Ribiero’s character Carlton stayed at in the show.
Will Smith’s Sneaker Wall

Some fun bonuses of the rental at the time included staying in a decked out primary suit that featured sneakers that Will Smith actually wore on the show and other Smith and show memorabilia and limited-time merch.
Will Smith Collectibles

As you might expect, a “Fresh Prince” themed rental would definitely be home to plenty of classic Will Smith items like this original “Rock the House” vinyl.
Show-Themed Decor

One of the best parts of the wing is no doubt the “Fresh Prince” themed decor and art. While it’s more than likely been renovated and updated to give it a more broad appeal, seeing how Airbnb dressed this room up is impressive!
Dining Room

One look at this dining room and we’re already hearing that scene where Will starts tapping on the glassware and beatboxing. How iconic is it to be able to sit in essentially the same set up?!
Backyard Pool

While the pool in the show looked a little different than this one, we’ll take this real-life backyard oasis over the fictional one anyday!
Will Smith and the Cast Toured the Home in 2020
In 2020, Smith alongside Jeff, and cast members Ali, Parsons, Reid, and Marcell joined him for a tour inside the Airbnb rental. For fans of the iconic show, it was just nice for us to see them gathered together again.
