A Heckler Tried Tony (Chris Rock’s brother) But His Comeback Had the Whole Crowd Shook

During a recent stand-up comedy show, Tony Rock told a heckler exactly who he is… and who he isn’t, in a fiery clap back.

A heckler almost learned the hard way Tony Rock is not the one to mess with. A video, which has since gone viral, showed Rock handling a heckler with ease, but its what he said that had the audience, and now the Black internet, in shambles.

Rock was on-stage seemingly roasting folks in the front row of a comedy show. “I’m going this way, y’all know y’all next right,” Rock said, implying the group was up next for the roasting. “What’s going on here?” he asked. A man in the audience answered they were there for his wife of 28 years’ birthday. Rock told Renee, the wife, “Happy birthday,” when the man pointed out they weren’t alone at the show. “That’s sis, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, [and] that’s brother right there,” pointing at them sitting nearby.

Rock seemingly took that personally, asking the man, “What you wanna fight motherf*cka?” before the crowd erupted in laughter. After Rock re-enacted how the man pointed out his crew (“We deep in here!”), the fellow stood up at the front of the stage and removed his sunglasses.

He then told the man he, “Better sit yo ass down, I ain’t Chris [Rock] motherf*cker.” The punchline seemingly put the man at ease as he dapped up Rock and laughed right along with everyone else.

Folks online responded to Rock’s joke at his brother’s expense in the comments on X.

“He going to use his brother as a joke forever now,” one person said.

“Chris gotta smack Tony now,” a second person tweeted, with another person agreeing how “it be your own family.”

“Can’t believe he’s still milking that weird little incident till today, we’ve moved past that sh*t,” another viewer penned.

Other comments included, “The guy was confrontational, [but] he was a good sport,” accusations the exchange was “staged” and the man was a “plant,” and, “All that crying for your bro when the slap went down just to benefit off the joke later.”

Rock’s joke was a slight diss to when Will Smith walked on-stage live at the Oscars to slap Chris Rock on March 27, 2022. While Chris was presenting the award for Best Documentary Series, he made a joke about Smith’s wife’s shaved head and how he couldn’t wait to see her in “G.I. Jane 2.” Smith slapped Rock in the face and demanded that he keep “his wife’s name out his mouth” when he returned back to his seat. Smith went on to win Best Actor for his role in “King Richard” that same evening, but was banned from attending all Academy events, including the Oscars, for 10 years. He issued an apology to the Academy and later to Chris, calling his actions “unacceptable” and “inexcusable.”
