Editor-in-Chief Tracey Ferguson of Jones magazine (left) commented that she had to forge her own career path without relying on a mentor. Black Girls Rock! founder Beverly Bond said that she thrived on proving naysayers wrong.
Editors Tammi (center) and McKenzie (right) of Rolling Out magazine were in attendance.
This unidentified audience member was one of several seeking answers from the panelists on how to succeed in today's competitive career environment.
Many of the audience members came with a female friend or relative. Aside from the shared experience, each of them left with a gift bag designed by Jane Wayne Gear, courtesy of Target.
Vixen Valet's Ahshalanda Murphy also had questions for the panel.
Listening intently was Greg Cunningham (center, in blue), brand marketing group manager for event sponsor Target and one of the few men in the audience that evening.
