A$AP Rocky Says His Mama Knew This About Rihanna …

A$AP Rocky reflects on how Rihanna changed his life, and revealed that his mother knew she was the one years before he did.

Five years after A$AP Rocky and Rihanna’s15 Questions” moment with Vogue, it’s abundantly clear that he and his twin flame Rihanna are in it for the long haul. And while the rap star may not have seen it coming back in 2012, his mama had the 20/20 vision to see that Rihanna was the one who’d change everything.

During a preview of the New York Times’ “Popcast” with Jon Caramanica and Joe Coscarelli, the “A$AP Forever” icon admitted that his mother knew all along that Bad Gal Riri was the one — even encouraging him not to waste his time fooling around with so-and-so in favor of the “Umbrella” songstress.

And that’s not all. The rapper — currently promoting his fourth studio album, titled “Don’t Be Dumb” — also gave credit to the singer for taking the “blindfold off” from his face, adding that her companionship has been life changing.

“A woman will change your whole life, especially if it’s a companion. Before I had my children, it was like being with my girl took a blindfold off,” Rocky began. “Soon as you get with a girl, she’ll tell you: ‘that’s not your friend — that’s your friend. But that one? Nah.’ “

The podcast host reflected on the rapper’s history, admitting that if they had to guess whether Rocky would be “the most happily, coupled-up, familied-up man in rap music” he would have respectfully said, “Hell no.” Mind you, Rocky couldn’t agree more, revealing how surprised he was at how closely they aligned.

“She was always my boo,” the rapper said. “I always fucked with her.”

Rocky continued: “My mother used to say ‘I know that you like this girl that you with right now’ — I ain’t gonna say no names. ‘But I want you with Riri.’ I used to be like ‘Ma, why you keep saying that? That girl don’t even want me like that, be cool mom. That’s just my friend.’ ”

“I’m telling you, she’s real,” he said, quoting his mother. “And mothers know best,” he added in agreement.

Furthermore, the style icon is thankful that Riri was placed into his life when she was, admitting that prior to that, he wouldn’t have been ready, and neither would she.
