79-Year-Old Woman Allegedly Shoots Grandnephew Over $20

According to AL.com, the 79-year-old Mobile, Ala., woman allegedly shot her grandnephew in the foot after he reportedly stole $20 from her. When Peterson noticed that her money was missing, she accused her grandnephew—who lives with her and whose name and age were not disclosed—of taking it. Police arrived around 9:30 a.m. Sunday in response to a call about a shooting and found the grandnephew outside suffering from a gunshot wound to his foot.

Peterson was arrested Sunday and charged with second-degree domestic violence. She bonded out later that same day, according to AL.com.
