50 Cent “Hates My Guts,” Says Evanescence’s Amy Lee

What could have possibly happened between 50 Cent and the "Bring Me To Life" singer?

Kanye West rushing on stage to take the microphone from Taylor Swift is nearly as infamous as Will Smith’s Oscar slap. But those aren’t the only times things went off the rails during an award show.

During a recent interview with the Daily Beast, Evanescence singer Amy Lee opened up about the time 50 Cent wandered on stage while she was accepting an award.

β€œ50 Cent hates my guts,” said Lee, through laughter.

In 2004, Evanescence won the Grammy for Best New Artist over fellow nominee 50 Cent. Lee told the Daily Beast that even she thought the β€œIn Da Club” artist was going to win.

While the band was on stage accepting the award, things took a somewhat bizarre turn. 50 Cent, in a pre-cursor to Ye’s Taylor Swift moment, proceeded to join them on stage.

β€œYou know when you’re just in shock? He didn’t do anything, he didn’t grab the mic, it wasn’t that bad. He just sort of made an appearance. It was like Zoolander when he thought he won,” Lee told the Daily Beast.

Lee said that 50 never said anything to her face. β€œBut he likes to talk about me and how he was robbed. I don’t want to start a beef with him,” she said.

Evanescence and 50 Cent having any contact with each other at all, let alone enough to provoke beef with each other, is entirely unexpected. Although, the rapper did have a protractedΒ issue with a cast member of the Bravo reality show Vanderpump Rules, so maybe this one isn’t too out there.
