Trinity was shot in the neck early Sunday morning outside the Cook Out restaurant in Lexington, Ky.

Chazerae M. Taylor, 38; his 19-year-old son, D’markeo C. Taylor; and Dvonta Middlebrooks were all charged with wanton endangerment. Middlebrooks was also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

According to the Post, several shots were fired in the parking lot of the restaurant around 4 a.m. Trinity was pronounced dead at 4:41 a.m.

Her mother, Shoshana Boyd, said that Trinity was a very innocent girl. “I just want people to stop shooting and realize who they’re hurting,” she said. “It’s just random. They don’t understand. They don’t understand who they’re hurting.”

Trinity was one of the top sprinters among Kentucky high schoolers and, according to her grandmother, had hopes of being a plastic surgeon.

“I’m so confused,” said her father. “She was just here last week for fall break. It’s so crazy. I have no idea what happened.”
