15 Disappointing Black People Who Helped Trump Usher In This Political Downward Spiral

Every wannabe presidential candidate and token Black conservative who most likely casted their ballot on Trump.

Since President Donald J. Trump decided to run for the White House again, we’ve seen the disturbing emergence of Black far-right conservatives who stood proudly behind his concerning beliefs and promises to set us back decades.

You Won’t Believe the Reason Why This ‘High School Musical’ Movie is Monique Coleman’s All Time Favorite

The consistent support for Trump despite his rhetoric and endorsement of authoritarian action was met with pom poms and cheers by a portion of Black Americans ranging from musicians to controversial political commentators. Others weren’t so much hell-bent right-wing pacifists but apparent elbow-rubbers who didn’t think too deep into the serious implications of Trump taking office.

Though their position is more disappointing than shocking, their projection of internalized oppression was only bound to manifest itself into speech behind a MAGA hat. Take a look at 15 Black folks whose support for Trump and far-right nationalism got us exactly where we are now.

Whenever you research Black conservatives, you will almost always see this woman’s face, which is the sad part. She had the ear of Trump but instead of trying to prevent damage she only stirred the fire. She’s managed to get banned from several platforms (and Australia) thanks to her ruthless anti-semitic, fat-phobic, homophobic conspiracies and right-wing ideals. Her comments know no bounds.

Florida Rep. Byron Donalds

What a waste. This man not only had the ear of Trump and did nothing, but was truly a waste of space. The Jim Crow-defending pick me stood proudly in front of a MAGA crowd referencing Trump as “daddy” and proclaiming with his whole chest that Trump would be the key to the country’s stability (LOL). Dude is in the sunken place.

Sen. Tim Scott

The certified Trump-apologist excused Trump’s viral “Black jobs” comment and blamed the media for portraying a “skewed” view of Trump, insisting former President Joe Biden was just as guilty for past racial comments. Scott argued he was an insider helping Trump tackle the issue of racism in America. Given Trump’s war on diversity, equity and inclusion… we’re not sure his counsel was of much impact.

Clarence Thomas

Having sat comfortably on the Supreme Court for the past 33 years, he managed to cosign on decisions that negatively impacted Black Americans such as rolling back affirmative action, overturning Roe v. Wade and even went as far as encouraging the “correcting” of other cases including the ruling that legalized same-sex marriage. Not to mention, he used his powers to support the “stop the steal” dispute over the 2020 presidential election.

The wannabe president didn’t make much shake from his sector of the world but he did add to the conservative delusion that America isn’t systemically racist. He also said Black people “exaggerate” the issue of racism. His anti-Black and misogynistic comments made him even less popular than he already was, but hurt his own race.

Ben Carson

The one conservative you can count on to tout dangerous, right-winged rhetoric (that wouldn’t serve him in any way) is Mr. Carson. Ending no-fault divorce, national abortion bans – if you found it in Project 2025, it probably came out of Carson’s mouth beforehand. Shame.

Mark Robinson

North Carolina’s nightmare who referred to himself as a “Black Nazi” is known for embodying the most vile nonsense of far-right conservatism including but not exclusive to mocking school shootings, making degrading comments about the Civil Rights Movement and touting that rape and incest are not good enough reasons to justify access to abortion.

Herschel Walker

Mr. “I Have The Cure to COVID” had a very short run for Senate, having hired a Jan 6. Insurrection rioter to work his campaign, admit to carrying around a law enforcement badge that he didn’t earn and being exposed for previously claiming to have a cure for COVID. We disown you, Mr. Walker.

Daniel Cameron

We already knew what team dude played for in his shameful response to the fatal police shooting of Breonna Taylor by refusing to prosecute the officers involved. However, following that moment, he managed to wage a war on “woke” corporation policies, amplify his pro-life stance and put his foot down against gun control. Your typical right-winger.

Antonio Brown

The former NFL star admitted he admired the business mogul Trump was prior to presidency and commended him for the pardons he promised to issue … having only considered the cases of Lil Wayne and Kodak Black instead of, I don’t know, the hundreds of insurrectionists who sought Trump’s pardons as well.

Sage Steele

The former ESPN anchor is not only an anti-vaxxer but also admires Candace Owens and of course, is a proud Trump supporter. Out of the ignorant hoopla that comes out of her mouth includes the classic right-wing claim that white folks are the least racist and the bogus accusation that Barack Obama isn’t really Black. This talk helps absolutely no one Black…but maybe her.

Jason Whitlock

The toxic show host, in defense of his religious extremism, claimed the most vulnerable people in the country are heterosexual Christian males, repeatedly spat transphobic rhetoric and as expected, gives undoubted support to MAGA.

Lil Wayne

Of course Trump pardoned him from facing punishment for felony gun possession after the rapper posted a cheesy picture with the guy, praising him for what he did for criminal reform. None of that changed the fact the president has no plans of helping criminal cops face prosecution for killing Black folks but hey, an endorsement is an endorsement.

Harrison Floyd

The man who previously ran the Black Voices for Trump organization is such a MAGA stan, he got swept up into the election interference case against Trump as his co-defendant. Despite facing criminal charges, he hasn’t denounced his allegiance to Mr. 47.

Kanye West

One of the first Black celebs to loudly and proudly pledge their support to President Trump was none other than the Chicago native rapper. He even went as far to proclaim “White Lives Matter” with matching t-shirts alongside Candace Owens and was caught spitting antisemitic comments in classic far-right fashion. Can you imagine this man had the ear of the future president and did not one thing to prevent Trump’s destruction.

Snoop Dogg

The Black community was surprised to discover Snoop Dogg accepted the invitation to perform following Trump’s second inauguration, given the rapper’s seemingly liberal position on politics and previous anti-Trump stance when he was first elected. I hope he regrets it.

Nelly

Along with Snoop, Nelly was invited to perform at Trump’s Liberty Ball following the inauguration. The rapper dismissed the backlash saying, “This isn’t politics” and claiming it is “an honor” for him to perform for the president regardless of who is in office.

Black Voters

We ain’t forget about the 18 percent of Black 2024 election voters who casted their ballot on Trump because they didn’t trust former Vice President Kamala Harris over the convicted felon. Yes, you are part of the Blame.
