For generations, television and film have never shied away from poking fun at American presidents, but ever since President Donald Trump stepped onto the political scene a decade ago, the jokes about him and his administration just get more brutal and more out of pocket! Most recently, “South Park’s” portrayal of Trump has been ruffling some MAGA feathers… and for pretty good reasons.

Outside of this, shows like “Family Guy” and “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” have proven they’re not afraid of Trump or any potential retaliation from all the jokes, jabs and callouts concerning the administration. So now, we’re taking a look at examples of TV shows and movies that have brought Trump to the center of conversation… You’ll need some popcorn for this one!
South Park
“South Park” kicked off season 27 with two episodes dedicated to Trump and his administration. In the first episode, “Sermon on the ‘Mount,” the writers took aim at the administration’s second term– including the Epstein Files. One of the viral moments is when Trump literally jumps into bed with Satan… ouch! Most recently, “South Park” release another episode, this time targeting Trump, Vice President JD Vance and U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, who responded on Glenn Beck’s podcast saying, “It never ends, but it’s so lazy to constantly make fun of women for how they look.”
Family Guy
In season 17, episode 11 titled “Trump Guy,” one of the main characters in “Family Guy,” Peter, gets a job working inside of Trump’s White House. But a part from the show’s dramatized portrayal of the 45th president, almost all of Trump’s allies and family members were made a mockery of. Even former N.J. Gov. Chris Chris Christie caught a stray. Peter hilariously “mistakes” Trump for a butternut squash, and the writers’ allude to Trump’s infamous “grab ’em by the p***y” phrase. Before long, Trump and Peter get into an all out brawl in the episode, when the president spots a portrait of former President Barack Obama and stomps on it.
The Late Show with Stephen Colbert
After Paramount settled a lawsuit with Trump for $16 million, late night show host Stephen Colbert has been more than outspoken on the matter. He even called the deal “a big fat bribe.” Days later, his show– one of the highest rated late night shows in history with 10 seasons– was cancelled. In response, Colbert has been using his final episodes to jab at Trump and Paramount. During a July episode, Colbert reacted the viral Coldplay kiss cam incident, but instead, it was Trump and Paramount booed up!
SNL
“Saturday Night Live” has been cracking jokes about Trump since before his first election. Then, actor Alec Baldwin played the Republican candidate. But since Trump circled back to the political realm, James Austin Johnson has been taking things to a new level. From pledging to “make girlfriends young again–” a clear play on Trump’s “Make America Great Again” slogan– to signing outrageous executive orders on the show, SNL is capitalizing off Trump’s win big time.
The Simpsons
Like the others on the list, “The Simpsons’” portrayal of Trump is liable to have the 47th president feeling some kind of way. In season 28, the adult comedy show ripped everything from Trump’s hair to his war on immigration, and it wouldn’t be the first or last time either! In another episode from 2000, “The Simpsons” correctly predicted a Trump presidency. One character, Lisa, becomes president and tells her cabinet members “We’ve inherited quite the budget crunch from President Trump.” In 2025, with economists continuing to warm against Trump’s sporadic economic policies, this joke takes a new light.
Drawn Together
Creators of “Drawn Together” introduced a character named Bucky Bucks, who was intended to be a parody of the 45th and 47th president. He appears in the episode titled, “The One Wherein There Is a Big Twist.” The show makes fun of Trump during his reality TV show days on “The Apprentice.”
The President Show
When Trump was elected in 2016, many television shows and movies quickly followed, giving their take on one of the most unexpected political turnouts in American history. “The President Show” came in 2017 and was Comedy Central’s take on if Trump decided to be a late night show host. It only lasted one season, but many argued that Anthony Atamanuik, the show’s creator, was an accurate portrayal of the president.
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon
Ever since Trump became president, late night hosts have made it their mission to crack jokes about him any chance they get! In the case of Jimmy Fallon, his jokes have gotten the attention of Trump, who claims the late night show will soon be canceled– just like Stephen Colbert’s. No matter the threats against him, Fallon has done his best Trump impressions and even had kids from across the country submit their best impressions of the sitting president.
Bad President
The movie starring Eddie Griffin is described as “The devil encourag[ing] media personality Donald Trump to run for president of the United States, so he can have a political puppet,” according to IMDb. The low budget movie was released in 2020, the same year that Trump lost reelection to former President Joe Biden.
The Daily Show
Constant jokes from “The Daily Show” have gotten to Trump over the years. Famously, actor and comedian Trevor Noah has been critical of the president, often calling out his policies during his first term. But it’s during his second term when comedians like Jessica Williams and Josh Johnson got even more creative and brutal. Williams even said, “Trump is going to target every exceptional Black person he can think of,” before joking that it would be no surprise if Trump went after Steve “Urkel,” the character from the ’90s sitcom “Family Matters.”
Sesame Street
Fans of iconic “Sesame Street” know theres multiple reasons why the president has chosen to target PBS’ federal funding and Elmo and all of his friends. For years, the show has been making fun of Trump through the “Ronald Grump” character. In 1988, Grump was first introduced as a puppet, and then again in 1994, Grump got a makeover with actor Joe Pesci. In each episode he appears to be the antagonist, with the Sesame Street gang having to teach him a lesson about humanity.
Mickey 17
In the 1980s, the creators of “Gremlins 2: The New Batch” decided they needed a new villain, and who better than Trump to base it on! Daniel Clamp, who was portrayed by John Glove, was the result. Clamp was a slick billionaire mogul, who owned basically any and everything from sports teams to a cable network, even merchandising his autobiography… sound familiar?
Jimmy Kimmel Live
Adding on to the long list of late night show hosts who love joking about the president, Jimmy Kimmel has sparked a reaction from Trump, who has– surprise, surprise— vowed to take him down. Kimmel attacked Trump during his time hosting the Academy Awards in March 2024 while asking: “Isn’t it past your jail time?” and the hilarious jabs just haven’t stopped coming since then. In response, Trump said, “The word is, and it’s a strong word at that, Jimmy Kimmel is NEXT to go in the untalented Late Night Sweepstakes… These are people with absolutely NO TALENT,” the Independent reported.
