(The Root) -- Centric TV's latest documentary, Don Cornelius: Visionary, Trailblazer and Cultural Icon, looks back at the life and legacy of the late Soul Train host through his own eyes, with exclusive footage of Cornelius reflecting on his eventful life and game-changing career.

The TV doc also features interviews with music legends Gladys Knight, Anita Baker, Quest Love, Kool and the Gang, Eddie Levert and Missy Elliott, as well as former Soul Train dancers and performers.

Co-executive-produced by the host's son, the documentary delves into Cornelius' life beyond the screen, looking at his love of fatherhood, family and more.

Don Cornelius: Visionary, Trailblazer and Cultural Icon will air on Saturday, June 23, at 11 p.m. EDT on Centric TV.
