Claim to Fame Professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering at Princeton University

Bio A professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering at Princeton University, Dr. Winston”Wole” Soboyejo offers a different vision of Africa. Instead of depending on outside economic aid for the continent’s further development, he encourages public and private donors to fund the education of future African scientists who will drive science-based development and growth. From that vision came the US/African Materials Institute, an online organization for students, faculty, and scientists that's just one part of a larger network dedicated to making Africa a healthy competitor in the global economy by utilizing its greatest natural resource—Africans.

Quote "We are trying to show people that this [research] is not just science, but the potential to make an impact on the lives of others... I am so proud because we are now educating a new type of student. Not only a student who will learn about how to do research in a lab, but a student who... fits into what they do in their own, unique way."
