Critics say new MJ movie doesn't do the King of Pop his royal justice.
"This Is It," the new Michael Jackson concert film, has been billed as a rare glimpse into the creative psyche that defined pop music's shape and trajectory. But this isn't a concert film. It's a rehearsal film -- and one that will leave Jackson's most zealous fans waiting for goose bumps that never arrive.
Filmed at the Staples Center in Los Angeles between March and June, "This Is It" captures the King of Pop prepping for a 50-night run at London's O2 Arena. But after the singer's death shocked the planet on June 25, the extensive rehearsal footage -- intended for Jackson's personal archive -- was quickly cobbled into a feature-length documentary that landed in theaters on Wednesday.

I am still somewhat in shock over his death and I wasnt the biggest fan of his latter music. i simply admired how he continued to re invent himself and his fortitude and how he kept pushing on. I didnt like all of his choices, but I am also not one to judge. He is one that you just thought would always be there

I had a chance to see the concert film, because that's all it was, a concert film.
Anyone who was expecting something different was mistaken.
If you want to hear some great music, and see some MJ moves, go and see it!
It was a last effort to make money with what was planned to be a 50 day concert appearance, but God called him home!
It only goes to show you that one can plan and plan, but no one knows what tomorrow holes! Yes, MJ called it. THIS WAS IT!!!!!

I agree with you on everything except this notion that he thought that he was dying.
all reports indicate that MJ was in great physical shape and that there was no reason to expect him to die. Unless there had been previous close calls and MJ planned a sort of suicide in which case he set up the doctors assisting him since the method of usiing the drugs had to be administered by the doctor
Most people just don't get it. Michael was making an attempt at saying good-bye to his fans. He titled the concert: "This Is It," and "The Final Curtain Call." If you're planning to make a lasting come back; you'd not titled your 1st major concert as though it is your last one. Michael was very much aware that he was sick and dying. He cared enough about his fans and wanted to leave something behind for them. I believe the film was well done. I enjoyed it and believed that Michael although a perfectionist did the best he could. I got to see a genius at work and whether it was his best work or not, I do not care. I saw a god and god of music/dance he was. Just watching him was good enough. Gods come for a reason and when their works are done, they exit. There will be no other gods than Michael Jackson. The world will remember him for a long time. Leave him alone and let him rest in peace. Let us not pay any attention to the media. They destroyed Michael and will continue to destroy him because they cannot accept that all gods aren't necessarily white and I'll never believe that he hurt anyone. He lived on a higher level than the rest of us. His consciousness was simply too high for him to hurt an innocent child. We should thank him for having shared his genius with the rest of us mortals.

At the memorial said it all with his surrealistic joyous glazing gaze ( not blinking) as he introduced the so called fat Jackson protégé, and announced all of the up coming money making events that would follow MJ's untimely death. It was all for the money. And they know that the longer you wait to commercialize on an entertainers death the less profit you will likely make .........because people forget so soon. So they threw together something quick and fast.
Couple that with MJ's controversy and the judgmental way that many Americans perceived him, the timeline is slim. This is why the Jacksons are preparing their A&E reality series, because you have to strike while the fire is hot!!! I will try my best to watch this series even though I hate reality shows, to me the Jacksons will always be an American Family success story.
