Blogging While Brown 2011: Rene Syler Talks

Find out what the veteran newswoman has been up to and how blogging has changed her life.

Rene Syler (Skylar Hensley/Blogging While Brown)

At the 2011 Blogging While Brown conference in Los Angeles, The Root caught up with veteran journalist and blogger Rene Syler. Syler, co-host of CBS News' The Early Show between 2002 and 2006, told us about the latest offerings on her parenting-advice blog, "Good Enough Mother."

Syler, who, with comedian Kim Coles, hosted the conference's Black Weblog Awards ceremony, also told us how blogging has freed her: "It's allowed me to be wholly and freely authentic." Hear more in the video below, which was shot on July 9 at the Los Angeles Airport Marriott by The Root Deputy Editor Sheryl Huggins Salomon.
