Jackie Publisher Says Rihanna Article Wasn't Wrong
A few days after the resignation of Jackie magazine's editor-in-chief, Eva Hoeke, who approved an article that called pop star Rihanna an "ultimate niggabitch," publisher Yves Gjirath said he didn't think the article was that bad.
"There is nothing wrong in the magazine," he said in a statement. "Hoeke presented the offensive article as a joke, but it most certainly was not a joke. It was an interpretation of a fashion style ... She should have said: 'we did not realize this interpretation is such a touchy subject. We never meant any harm and offer our sincere and upright apologies.'"
Hoeke, who described the term as an American term, said she was describing a way of dress. The singer http://www.nrc.nl/nieuws/2011/12/22/...t-aan-artikel/ Now the difference between racism in the US and the rest of the world is that you have NO case as a black person in other countries. They won't hear you because either you are too sensitive, you are making a big deal out of nothing and I could go on. There is just no discussion possible because these "uber" people just don't discriminate, it's all in our black mind. 2 days ago, 10:46:12 – Flag – Reply fresno500 Damn!!! 2 days ago, 10:55:49 – Flag – Reply clarke Why is it a SURPRISE to RE or any of the other Black female "entertainers" that parade themselves half naked to find out what the white media thinks of them? It was fine with her when the TMZ guys asked her that question about liking white or dark meat. She didn't say a thing about THAT. There is much more racism going on out here in the Netherlands then people in US the really know. For example: the national December 5 vistifaty called Sinterklaas en zwarte piet is a racist motived tradition of the Nederland. The help of this Sinterklaas is A white men painted in black with A afro wig called zwarte piet(Black Piet). For years the black community is protesting against this racist character and they get arrested for protesting against it. Prime Minister Mark Rutte is allowing this activities in this country because he say it’s a tradition. But what Mark Rutte really means is that’s along companies are making money we don’t care if it hurts the black comment. Mark Rutte will not apologize to the black community for the part that the Netherlands played during slavery and hey allows people getting arrested demonstrating against the racist character zwarte piet(black Piet). So I wonder will president Barak Obama really wont to visit this country as he stated during the visit of prime minster Mark Rutte of the Netherland. 5 days ago, 19:47:43 – Flag – Reply fresno500 These are the people responsible for the old South Africa. It's a complete mystery as to their racial attitudes. (Not!) 2 days ago, 11:03:21 – Flag – Reply ivan cohen No one can't make the Dutch love us but why are entertainers like Beyonce and Michael Jackson overseas? Market saturation in the States. The record companies market the aforementioned like merchandise. If any life is ever found on the other planets, Beyonce will be put on a space ship as would Rihanna to sell that music. It's all about profit margins. 5 days ago, 16:59:32 – Flag – Reply icantrememberallofmyaliases The question is: What are you going to do about it? I mean, what do you really plan to execute? Just more of what is in tallying the racist sh*t Whites do...in the Netherlands. Is that all there is to Black life--chasing and tabulating the crap Whites do? Was that what you were born to manifest? How much time do you waste casing them--in those that are sent to distract you and those get off? There are many Whites who don't have time for this foolishness and yet are outgunning us at this very moment because we stay distracted by emotional highs and lows. When will we get it? You can't make the Dutch love us? If Beyonce and Micheal Jackson couldn't do it, let it go. Double-time, double-down...quadtriple-time because we are behind. Dedicated groups like the NAACP can do this race-watch stuff. The rest of us needs to grinding and producing hits. Some of us have never produced a hit and want to blame others for their stealth organization, speed, focus, and determination to not give a f*ck as a crime. It's survival of the fittest. It's not survival of the most righteous. Entertainers more than anyone has to worry about this stuff but they make so much more than us exponientally. Make entertainers fight for themselves. They are supposed to be so creative. That's what they advertise. The rest of you--you need to put your heads down and grind. This is an issue you will do nothing about but huff and puff about. I've seen it all before a gazillion times. Stop b.s.'ing yourself because you need righteous fervor. You need to get off on yourself getting off thinking you are doing something getting mad. Our trackrecords show that's all performance art and this here, is time-wasting from the hard work we don't want to do and/or don't know how to do (and hadn't come to a critcal mass ephipany yet as breakthrough about ourselves.) 5 days ago, 16:25:20 – Flag – Reply Liked by kdog Marilyn The Dutch and the Portuguese were massive slave traders and did a lot of dirt in Indonesia, too, so it's hardly a surprise they have "the attitude." 5 days ago, 15:52:55 – Flag – Reply Liked by icantrememberallofmyaliases thescoop1 Rihanna's liberal usage of the n-word and b-word has come back to haunt her. Gjirath said there will not be a retraction in the next issue.
In the end, when have the words "ultimate niggabitch" ever been a popular pop-culture reference or even slang? Never. The article also referenced Jamaica and "ghetto asses"; what can you really expect from a magazine like this?
