Bronx, N.Y.-born Kerry Washington grew up the only child of middle-class parents. Upon graduating from the prestigious Spence School in Manhattan, she won a Presidential Arts Scholarship to attend George Washington University. She went on to star in films such as The Last King of Scotland, Fantastic Four and I Think I Love My Wife. Washington was also an original cast member in the David Mamet Broadway play Race and is a L'Oréal spokeswoman.
