In 2010 Janelle Monáe's debut album, The ArchAndroid, was a global hit, and in June of this year she delivered "track after track of immaculately choreographed fun" at England's Glastonbury Festival. But that's what's to be expected from the hyperkinetic, unconventional and superbly coiffed singing sensation. The entrepreneurial funkstress also has her own record label, the Wondaland Arts Society, which manages artists Deep Cotton and Roman GianAthur. This fall Monáe is headlining the Campus Consciousness Tour. See her at the 2008 Afro-Punk Festival before she went viral.
