What a difference a year makes. In 2010 Esperanza Spalding was someone to watch. Now the music world knows her talent as she snatched the 2011 best new artist Grammy Award away from guys named "Bieber" and "Drake." In July Spalding, who sings in English, Spanish and Portuguese, appeared at the Roots Picnic for the second time. In May she was working on Radio Music Society, a follow-up to her hit Chamber Music Society. Her next project will be with Brazilian vocalist Milton Nascimento.
